The parallel mechanism has three legs translating on ground. A scale model of the tripod parallel mechanism with planar actuators is designed and fabricated. The planar actuator is performed with two-axis Sawyer type of linear motor floating on ground by aerostatic bearing. Distributed control for the three planar actuators with six-degree-of-freedom is carried out by one-chip microcomputer. The analytical and experimental results show that the planar type of tripod parallel mechanism has larger motion space and tilt angle than the conventional Stewart-Gough platform type of parallel mechanism.","PeriodicalId":241423,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121167094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The stage is constructed with a very simple structure by employing double parallelogram flexures and four contactless electromagnetic force actuators. The kinematics and dynamic modeling of the mechanical system of the stage are conducted by resorting to compliance and stiffness analysis based on matrix method, and analytical models for electromagnetic forces are also established, both mechanical structure and electromagnetic model are validated by finite element analysis(FEA) via AN-SYS. The mechanical structure is analyzed in a multi-physics environmental simulation and electromagnetic actuators are applied in ANSYS too. Both FEA and the analytical models well demonstrate that the movement of the stage is totally decoupled. With the parameters given in the paper, the moving range can reach 1mm × 1mm and the resolution can reach 0.1 μm at least, which is mainly limited by the displacement sensor's accuracy in our laboratory.","PeriodicalId":241423,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132787796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper summarizes the major factors that may cause the pressure fluctuation in hydraulic systems. The effect of pressure fluctuation on the control precision of EHLS is also analyzed. To further improve the system robustness, a generic compensation algorithm of pressure is proposed to adjust the control gain in forward channel on-line, which utilizes the feedback of supply pressure to decrease the interference of pressure fluctuation. The simulation and experiments show that this algorithm can effectively reduce the torque ripples and improve the tracking performance of EHLS.","PeriodicalId":241423,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115059693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By the end of 1980s, it was emphasized that the control of mechatronics systems was based on sensor information, scilicet the concept of information-driven. At the turn of the century, more and more researches and applications concentrated on direct-drive. Thus it was fairly perfect that mechanical and electronic subsystems combined organically. With the development of artificial intelligence and computer science, information and symbol processing could solve some intelligence problems, so that machine intelligence appeared. However, only when the motion characteristics (e.g. kinematical and kinetic models, etc) of machines were fully considered, the intelligent machines could be built by machine intelligence. This paper intended to introduce some new developments of mechatroincs in the world and our research results.","PeriodicalId":241423,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130164331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
