The proposed algorithm coupled with a memory scheme and multiple population. The best individual of each normal subpopulation will be selected into the memory, during the search process. The improved immune clonal selection operator is employed for optimizing the memory population while the migration scheme is employed for the communication between memory population and normal subpopulations. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on some standard benchmark functions, which shows a faster convergence and global search ability. The traditional high cost barrier of space access has led to the development of low cost nano-satellites which emphasise the use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components and other standardised components. This leads to somewhat lacklustre performance during state estimation, limiting their potential applications however. In order to satisfy strict pointing requirements, there is a need for complex state estimation algorithms to compensate for low accuracy sensors, however traditional microcontroller/processor based approaches often lack the power required to meet the real-time computing deadlines. A novel direct-to-hardware implementation, based on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), of the Spherical Simplex Unscented Kalman Filter (SSUKF) for state estimation is proposed. However, so far, most controlling methods proposed for STATCOM have not taken into account the internal characteristics of rotational synchronous machines. In this paper, following the idea of synchronverters, the controller for a STATCOM is designed according to the mathematical model of synchronous generators that are operated in the compensator mode. As a result, no phase-locked loop (PLL) is needed. Moreover, a third operation mode, i.e. the droop control mode (or the D-mode in short), is introduced to the operation of STATCOM, in addition to the conventional voltage regulation mode (or the V -mode in short) and the direct Q control mode (or the Q-mode in short). This allows parallel-operated STATCOMs to share reactive power properly. The reduction in the number of main switches can also increase the reliability because the control circuits and the auxiliary circuits are thereby reduced to two sets. All main switches in the proposed rectifier operate at zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-on. Also, the auxiliary switches operate at zero-current-switching (ZCS) turn-on and turn-off. Furthermore, the proposed rectifier achieves unity power factor, sinusoidal input currents, adjustable output voltage and bidirectional power flow capability. Where state of the art systems operate on low-resolved (≈ 200 ppi) image data, we describe here the process flow to segment single yarns in high-resolved (≈ 1000 ppi) textile images. This work is partitioned into two parts: First, mechanics, machine integration, vibration cancelling and illumination scenarios are discussed based on the integration into a real loom. Subsequently, the software framework for high precision fabric defect detection is presented. For each original video to store in the database, we first extract its key frames. Next, we generate a hybrid signature of which consists of a base signature; a filtering index; and SURF descriptors. Given a suspect video, its hybrid signature is created in the similar way. The hierarchical filtering approach is then applied to match the suspect video and the relevant videos in the database based on the videos' filtering index and the base signatures. However, if the process do not find a match, the query video is suspected to fall into more complicated cases such as picture-in-picture and cropped video. To tackle such cases, SURF descriptors, are then used to match. With our hierarchical filtering approach, the computation during video matching process can be reduced. This paper is proposed a digital H∞ controller scheme comprises for both generator and grid interactive power converters, and the control performance is compared with the conventional PI controller. The features of the proposed ballast are high PF, low total harmonic distortion (THD) of input utility-line current, cost-effectiveness and freedom from acoustic resonance. However, most research deal with one hysteresis element in the system, seldom discuss the multi-hysteresis controllers, not to mention interactions between them. In the paper, we take a simple model with two coupled hysteresis controlled integrators as an example to study a synchronous phenomenon, that is similar to that happened in the large-scale distributed hysteresis controlled system, e.g. the supermarket refrigeration system. In the paper, synchronization is interpreted as a limit cycle in a state space created by switching among piecewise-affine dynamical system. Stability of the resultant limit cycle is examined by a Poincar'e map. Various authentication schemes have been proposed to secure the data from unauthorized users. One of the most prominent schemes is password based smart card authentication scheme used to withstand the possible attacks for verification table. However, most of these schemes are vulnerable to one or the other possible attacks. In this paper, highly secured smart card authentication scheme is proposed to resist all the identified attacks and satisfy the needs of user. Its security is based on one way hash function and the discrete logarithm problem. Security analysis proves that the given scheme is more secure as compared to other existing schemes.
