It is realized by introducing metal stubs in the aperture of a conventional bow-tie slot antenna. A spectral domain moment method analysis shows that the cross-polarization can be reduced by about 15 dB. The SWR remains below 1.6 in the bandwidth fupper/flower=2.8. Sánchez","doi":"10.1109/EUMA.1996.337634","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/EUMA.1996.337634","url":null,"abstract":"A nonquasi-static nonlinear table-based FET model, which has been implemented into a commercial Harmonic Balance Simulator (MDS), is described and demonstrated. It makes use of a simplified nonquasi-static charge formulation and also accounts for low frequency dispersion phenomena. It can be derived, fast and simply, from dc and small signal S-parameters and is general and technology and process independent. The model is accurate under dc, small and large signal operating conditions being able to perform excellent predictions up to high frequencies and over a wide bias range. Dynamic large signal model behaviour has been validated using pseudomorphic HEMT structures, by comparing measured and simulated input and output waveforms, dynamic load line and transfer characteristics. The design and implementation of the different parts of both demonstrators, from stacked microstrip. patch array antenna to the signal processing circuits, including the microwave ICs and IF stages, will be addressed in this paper. The use of this principle has been claimed in the past very frequently but violated in practice due to a confusing association between the electromagnetic system and its equivalent network representation. It is shown that the desired coupling effect inside the cavity is simply obtained when both resonant modes are simultaneously excited and tuned to different frequencies. A generic network representation for the dual mode cavity is proposed which is more clearly associated to the real electromagnetic system. The relation of this network with the standard filter synthesis network is shown and some fundamental design implications are derived that are not in full agreement with the classical design techniques. The offered method permits to calculate the dispersion characteristics not only one-row, but also of the two-row fingers structures. For the first time by calculation and on the basis of direct measurements the opportunity of an essential increase of electromagnetic waves' deceleration in fingers combs, located in parallel one upon the other, is shown. The proposed method employs distributed approach using nonlinear transmission line based on GCA(Gradual Channel Approximation). The modeling procedure needs only a few S parameter measurements under cold bias condition and simple I-V measurements. The former is used to extract the channel conductance and gate capacitance and the latter to optimize the velocity-field relation. General model for bit error rate calculations is presented. That model enables error determination for every type of fading encountered in mobile radio systems as well as for different TCM schemes.
