Treatment options are better than at later stages, when the tumor is larger and frequently has already spread to other body organs (metastasis). However, detection is difficult in dense breasts. Often mammographers prescribe biopsy, because they cannot visually predict the probability that the lesion is benign or malignant. A new method is proposed in this article, which may determine the malignancy of the tumor without invasive biopsy.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130644949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the internal structure which forms the annulus with the pipe wall makes the reconstruction of phase distribution different from the conventional application of ERT, especially when the diameter of the internal structure is big. The case of a non-conductive internal structure with the diameter ratio of 0.76 is studied on the electric field distribution and sensitivity distribution. Small bubbles within the annulus and a stratified flow occupied half of the cross section are numerically simulated and reconstructed with one-step Gauss-Newton method which provides good resolution on the bubbles location but overestimates their size.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122514226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of them try to balance the image quality at expense of increasing the computational complexity. In this paper, a modified method is presented, in which a midpoint is reached in between the accuracy of recreating focused aperture projections and the speed obtained by using the simplest Synthetic Aperture Focusing time-domain method. Details regarding the implementation of focusing on semi-automatic or automatic inspections systems are also described in the proposed methodology. Finally, in the evaluation results section, the suggested approach probes to be able to image small signatures up to approximately 0.035 mm.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129256743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By analyzing SAR motion compensation method and the effect of the track and target positioning inaccuracies, this paper presents a model to calculate the residual uncompensated motion errors. According to the model, the residual errors mainly depend on the slant range error, Doppler centroid error, and the target height error. The computed results by the proposed model accord closely with the actual image quality.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124987553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eye movements are an important part of human's vision system. Scientists have studied fixational eye movements for many years, and the importance of fixational eye movements has been experimentally demonstrated. However, fixational eye movements have not been explained clearly because of the technical problems associated with experimentation. To measure these eye movements, we developed a new eye movement measurement device that offers sufficient accuracy. The device can detect rotation in three degrees of freedom and is also less-invasive. We discovered several new characteristics of fixational eye movement by using the device. The first new finding of our study is the occurrence of fixational eye movements associated with rotation around the optical axis. The second finding is that we observed is an impulse-like movement behaviour that occurs generally in the horizontal direction. Our other new findings include the following: most microsaccade tracks are curve lines, and microsaccades of rotation in three degrees of freedom always occur at the same time.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130420669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generated by a well-collimated laser through a cylindrical lens, the fan beam laser crossed the target region and was detected by seven photodiode receivers. Compared with the way traditional computer tomography was implemented, algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) with a priori information only requires five viewing angles with severely limited data instead of data from all angles. A total of thirty five projections were obtained to reconstruct the image of gas concentration distribution by using this method. The reconstructed results validated the feasibility of this approach.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121589273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the problem that tracking with a single feature is susceptible to interference, the color and edge orientation features are combined under the particle filtering framework, and an adaptive feature-weight assignment approach is also proposed in the process of feature fusion. In the prediction period of particle filter algorithm, the mean-shift method is used to improve the particle swarm optimization algorithm. In this way, the number of effective particles is increased and the real-time performance of the tracking system is improved. Experiment results show that the proposed tracking system is more accurate and more efficient than the traditional color feature based mean-shift algorithm.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126286847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The real-time and historical traffic and other roadside information is very helpful information and can be analyzed to give good telematics services and traffic controlling, such as navigation, traffic flow, weather, traffic prediction and so on. This paper proposes an efficient real-time image recognition scheme to recognize roadside signs, such as traffic signs and common commercial marks, to collect real-time roadside traffic and other information by smart phones in mobile probing cars. The proposed scheme contains two stages. The first stage is used to detect regions of interest (ROI) which contain interesting object target, and the second stage is to recognize the detected regions. The recognition results can be collected in a cloud-based database to be further analyzed and applied in traffic information service. The experiment performs the proposed sign recognition method using traffic speed limitation signs to show its performance. The average speed is 0.085 seconds for a video frame and the average accuracy can achieve about 98%. Hence, the proposed scheme can keep lower computing complexity, however it still can obtain a well accuracy.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115928316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This filter is based on Neutrosophic set (NS) approach of wiener filtering. A Neutrosophic Set (NS), a part of neutrosophy theory, studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities, as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. Now, we apply the neutrosophic set into image domain and define some concepts and operators for image denoising. The image is transformed into NS domain, described using three membership sets: True (T), Indeterminacy (I) and False (F). The entropy of the neutrosophic set is defined and employed to measure the indeterminacy. The ω-wiener filtering operation is used on T and F to decrease the set indeterminacy and remove noise. The experiments have conducted on simulated MR images from Brainweb database with Rician noise added. The visual and the diagnostic quality of the denoised image are well preserved. The performance of this filter is compared with anisotropic diffusion filter (ADF) and unbiased non local mean filter (UNLM).","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131444017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system is part of the vision-based positioning system that will be used on a new UAV currently in development at Cranfield University. Using images captured from a single camera, the ego-motion of the aircraft is estimated and the relative position is updated every time a new frame is processed. To understand how this is achieved, each of the steps in the implemented visual odometry algorithm is explained in detail, taking a look to the techniques that make it possible. In addition, a failure detection system based on the corner tracking error has also been added to the algorithm to make the system more robust and able to automatically deactivate in poor conditions. Following the description of the visual odometry system, its performance is evaluated using terrain images from Google Earth (GE) and also from a real aerial footage captured on board a Curtis Pitts aircraft. The influence on the error of several factors such as the altitude, the flight speed, the terrain type and the number of corners to be tracked is studied and explained in detail. Finally, the future work to integrate the visual odometry system with a geolocation system to produce the vision-based positioning system of the Aegis UAV is briefly outlined.","PeriodicalId":213330,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131295861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
