Charge neutralization was provided by ions removed from the surface of the dielectric liner by intense radiation bombardment. Protons were accelerated to energies 2 to 10 times the peak electron energy (70-100 keV). Ion energy increased with the cavity length. Ion velocity scaled directly as the injected current density. A model of the acceleration mechanism, correlating ion velocity with that of the electron beam front, will be presented. Subsequently, this work was scaled to higher energies (2).","PeriodicalId":199423,"journal":{"name":"1977 2nd International Topical Conference on Electron Beam Research & Technology","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126844742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their characteristics and structures are investigated in the framework of the diffusion approximation for radiation flux. The subcritical deflagration is found to be easily obtained and to lead to larger compression than the supercritical one. The efficiency of compression driven by the deflagrations is estimated to be 0.1 ~ 0.3.","PeriodicalId":199423,"journal":{"name":"1977 2nd International Topical Conference on Electron Beam Research & Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1980-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115577557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
