Biomass plants should contain spare parts such that pump problems can be addressed immediately. However, because spare parts are expensive and accurate, the \"just-in-time inventory\" strategy is used in those plants. Furthermore, several types of raw materials are mixed in the pump and flow, and the damage to the pump differs depending on the raw materials used. Because the inside of the pump is invisible, the facility manager must dynamically predict the inside of the pump based on experience while observing changes in indirect observation data pertaining to pump failures. Herein, we propose a method to estimate pump failure probability from past equipment operation data and raw material mixture ratio as well as to manage pump inventory. This paper primarily describes the procedure for determining the pump replacement timing using raw material mixture ratio and equipment operation data.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132510475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are many tasks on an assembly line. Thus, some of the assembly tasks can be easily automated using robots, while the others are difficult to automate because different automation difficulty levels exist. Therefore, a line design is required to configure both humans and robots’ contributions considering the automation difficulty level. This study proposes a design problem for a hybrid assembly line with humans and robots that considers the automation difficulty from manual works. The proposed design problem consists of two stages. In the first stage, all tasks are selected as either human or robot task based on the automation difficulty level and total assembly time using integer programming. In the second stage, a line balancing problem is solved by integer programming to minimize the number of stations. After that, the proposed method is adopted to an actual electrical product manufacturing line. As a result, there was a case where the restrictions on automation difficulty level were relaxed, and the number of robot tasks were increased.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126388987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study proposes a novel video- annotated learning and review system with vocabulary learning mechanism (VALRS-VLM), which can assist learners to manually mark any video section that they cannot fully understand, and then clarify the pronunciation and usage of the unfamiliar vocabulary words appearing in the video section through an online dictionary, so as to enhance learners’ English listening performance and perception. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed VALRS-VLM, this study examines the effects of the learners in the experimental group using the VALRS-VLM with those in the control group using the video-annotated learning and review system without vocabulary learning mechanism (VALRS-NVLM) on English listening comprehension performance, learning satisfaction, technology acceptance, cognitive load, and learning retention. Analytical results show that the learners in the experimental group achieved remarkably better-listening comprehension performance and learning retention than those in the control group. Besides, both groups of the learners showed good learning satisfaction and technology acceptance, and low cognitive load. This study confirms that the proposed VALRS-VLM could effectively assist learners in facilitating English listening comprehension performance as well as achieve good learner perceived usefulness and easy of use.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122226024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, we focused on the problem of user interface design in Thailand’s electronics industry. To understand the current situation, this research is conducted to investigate the current design of user interface on electrical products sold in Thai electric appliance stores. A questionnaire was used to ask the opinions of users about the top five electrical appliances that are important for their lives and are complex in terms of use. The results indicated that the top five electronic devices that are most important for Thai users are refrigerators, air conditioners, TVs, washing machines, and electronic fans. However, washing machines are the most sophisticated devices in terms of use. The experiment was conducted to analyze and examine the design of user interfaces on the control panel screens used in washing machines. Data were then collected and evaluated by 2-way ANOVA and t-test. The results were statistically significant which indicated the differences between groups. The findings indicated that almost all Thai electronic products rely on Korean user interface design. In addition, more than 70% of the functions that appear on the control panel of washing machines use words to describe operations rather than symbols. The findings were used to identify the proper interface design words on washing machines in the next step.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"59 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120890627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We considered deep learning architectures for a single accelerator based on previous human activity recognition studies and investigated the classification accuracy of the proposed method using the walking-posture dataset. The results demonstrate that a deep learning approach to walking-posture classification using a single accelerator is more useful than the conventional SVM approach. Additionally, we also confirmed that a hybrid network architecture with three convolutional neural layers, two pooling layers between the convolutional layers, and a long short-term memory layer achieved the best accuracy of 0.9803 compared to other network architectures. We also confirmed the deep learning approach yielded more correct classification for each walking-posture category in spite of the difficulty to detect the classification by the SVM approach.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127603694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method compiles all research activities in a specific research area from several institutes into one set with the same parameter (research information). The generation of this dataset allows a comparison to be made with activities conducted by other research groups within the same area. As an example application of this method, we present the case of research conducted in astronomy. Using the proposed method, we compiled all research papers that investigate similar research areas from several institutions and compare their results. The decrease in the East area in Hokkaido is remarkable, and maternity needs long distance travel to a city hospital. Some advanced medical centers require distances of 160 km. Education for risk and troubleshooting is necessary for maternity that travels long distances. This study summarizes the concept of system design that supports maternity based on 5 years of system development practices. The concept of system design has set three phases. The first phase is a closed integral design. The second phase is a closed modular design. The third phase is an open modular design. The evaluation of the system design concept was implemented by developing a prototype system for smartphone applications. The function of the application makes maternity aware of early hospital visits. As some functions, measured labor time data can be recorded and shared in the cloud. In addition to sharing of data, the cloud can send information on maternity courses by municipalities. The development of the application design is to record the position information of the maternity in the cloud and share the movement trajectory.","PeriodicalId":188870,"journal":{"name":"2020 9th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133068218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
