Universities make efforts and implement tutoring and support programs to retain students, however, they do not achieve the expected results. This phenomenon is conditioned by a set of factors that must be known to be taken into account. This article presents the results of a bibliometric analysis using the SCOPUS database to determine aspects that influence student dropout in careers related to information and communications technologies (ICT). The results show that the factors that stand out in the studies are: age, gender, sense of belonging, academic performance, performance in previous studies, motivational, organizational factors, among others. Souza","doi":"10.23919/cisti54924.2022.9820128","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.23919/cisti54924.2022.9820128","url":null,"abstract":"The present work seeks to analyze the performance of the Fourier Neural Operator (symbolized by FNO) as a convolution method for an image classification and how is its performance when compared to ResNet20 (benchmarking). The possible advantage of this technique is the success in pattern recognition through the wave-forms properties of Fourier analysis and due the power of synthesis that the Fourier Transform has. The FNO was very efficient to solve parametric partial differential equations like Navier-Stokes Equation. ResNet20 took 21 minutes and 51 seconds for training, while the FNO took 4:11:14 hours to complete a hundred of epochs. The convolution occurs in a competitive way in the FNO, being perfectly possible to be used in the image recognition processes, with accuracy, recall, precision and F-Score slightly better than ResNet20 and quite similar to other neural networks available in the literature. However, based on time consuming, the FNO is not indicated to image classification. A semi-automated survey was conducted in German, involving bachelor students from different universities who had attended an introductory programming class within the last 6 semesters. The results clearly show that the students would like to have individual assignments instead of the due to time constraints, usual group exercises as they see more advantages for their learning progress. This work proposes an intrusion detection system based on data mining and machine learning techniques to detect and mitigate the damage caused by these attacks. It adopts the Information Gain method of selecting attributes in order to reduce the model-building time without affecting the classification performance. Using the CIC-IDS 2017 dataset, this work shows how different decision tree algorithms (Random Forest and J48 Algorithm) behave even if they receive equal parameters and data. Being a COVID-19 pandemic year, the sector's performance has not been as expected. It has been studied which variables are influential in the EVA. The results determined that earnings before interest and taxes (BAIT) and net operating profit after tax (NOPAT) had a positive impact on EVA, while weighted average cost of capital (WACC) and return on invested capital (ROIC) were not significant for EVA performance. Currently adopting this system in accounting and auditing practices, many possibilities have been opened in terms of optimizing resources and time of its processes; additionally, the accuracy and reliability of the registered transactions, which are now externally audited, create greater confidence for investors. Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the existing scientific literature on blockchain through a bibliometric and systemic study in the context of accounting and auditing, using the Proknow-C methodology and considering the Scopus database to describe the bibliographic variables. of articles published regarding the blockchain. The results show a list of relevant journals and authors in the field under study. The retail sector is just one of them. The starting question that originated this article is: is Portugal receptive to the use of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence in retail? In other words, what is the opinion of the Portuguese and residents in Portugal, as consumers, regarding the use of automation by retail companies? Based on the analysis of the answers to an online questionnaire (which obtained 132 answers), we will present our conclusions regarding this matter. The goal is to understand if Portuguese people / residents in Portugal are willing and interested in going to supermarkets like Amazon Go or Continente Labs (or Pingo Doce & GO NOVA). In addition, it is intended to understand the reasons that lead them to respond skeptically, so that, in the future, strategies may be initiated by the companies of the sector, which based on greater and better education, may clarify, and perhaps change their assumptions and convictions. The results of this study reveal that the Portuguese and residents in Portugal are not yet interested in using automated supermarkets, showing some mistrust and reticence towards this new technology, although they recognize that it can increase the speed and efficiency of the service. It focuses on 1) identifying the critical factors that could generate additional value by using blockchain in the supply chain workflow, 2) implementing a vaccine logistics scenario on a blockchain platform, and 3) examining the value creation and value appropriation opportunities resulting from embedding blockchain onto the supply chain.
