For O-OMA, we provide an analytical solution to the optimization problem. The energy efficiency results of the proposed schemes are compared with the schemes given in the literature. We show that O-OMA improves the classical OMA, and that H-NOMA-S performs equal to or better than the methods in the literature.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115785589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The network consists of a secondary source, a secondary destination, a secondary passive eavesdropper, and a primary user receiver. We use the first-order auto-regressive process to model the impact of nodes mobility in the channel, and a linear minimum mean square error estimation process to estimate the channel state information. Under such consideration, we first formulate the end-to-end instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the destination. Then, we derive the exact closed-form secrecy outage probability and intercept probability expressions for the considered system. Further, to gain more insights into the considered system, we derive an expression in asymptotically low-outage regime. We also present some key practical cases of interest to reveal valuable information about the system secrecy diversity order. Finally, the numerical and simulation studies corroborate our analytical findings.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131932179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a hybrid network with both traditional network domains and software-defined networking (SDN) domains, the simultaneous inter-domain routing information exchange requires collaboration among different autonomous systems (ASes). However, the rigid routing policies of the conventional BGP are sometimes inadequate to meet the demand of applications with low-latency requirements like augmented reality (AR). In this paper, we propose a Latency Reduction Software-Defined BGP (LRSD-BGP) framework to reduce the latency in inter-domain initial link setup. Furthermore, a controller-to-controller (C2C) communication module is designed to accelerate the routing link establishment procedure of inter-domain traffic by pre-allocating and installing routing paths for the AS in the next hop. LRSD-BGP is evaluated in terms of BGP convergence time and first round-trip time (RTT). Experimental results demonstrated that LRSD-BGP can outperform SD-BGP in terms of first RTT even in highly loaded cases.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133917247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To meet this demand, novel techniques with significantly higher gain for efficient spectrum usage and reduced latency are required. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is expected to be a promising solution for the scarcity of spectrum resources, which are shared in a non-orthogonal way such that multiple users can access the same frequency and time slots simultaneously. Although many studies concentrate on NOMA, a few of them give insight into how the channel estimation and channel quantization affect the performance of the system. Related to this issue, this study focuses on a downlink NOMA implementation. In the first part, we mainly concentrate on the analysis of the effect of channel estimation and channel quantization on the bit error rate (BER) performance with MATLAB simulations. For the second part, the BER performance of the system is analyzed through a practical two-user downlink NOMA system implemented with software-defined radios (SDRs).","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130655934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are plenty of theoretical studies, there is only a couple of experimental studies about NOMA. In this study, a practical downlink NOMA system based on software-defined radio (SDR) platform is implemented with the number of users increased to four. Our NOMA system, which makes use of power domain NOMA mainly focuses on four user superposition coding at the transmitter and successive interference cancelation (SIC) at each receiver. The designed NOMA system has been tested over real-time experiments and constellation differences are compared with SIC output. In addition to these, bit error rate (BER) results have been proposed.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"242 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123744581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most important criteria that should be taken into account in every computing system nowadays is its energy efficiency. Strict requirements to service availability and timeliness must be taken into account as well. In this paper new comprehensive energy efficient approach to workload processing in distributed computing environment is proposed. The goal of this approach is to get as close as possible to the energy-proportional computing model. Proposed approach combines the advantages of horizontal scaling and energy efficient scheduling taking into account individual power consumption characteristics of computing nodes and dynamicity of workload in modern computing systems. The efficiency of the proposed approach is proven using Matlab modeling.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122807675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, we introduce a proof-of-concept for a blockchain-enabled QoS-based inter-Autonomous System (AS) routing framework, RoutingChain, that blends a QoS-concerned routing model and blockchain technology. This study’s contributions can mainly be stated in five-fold: (i) Competitors-tailored routing coordination framework, (ii) eliminating centralized mediators while coordinating QoS-based inter-AS routing, (iii) an emerging use-case for blockchain technology in networking, (iv) reducing the number of QoS signaling-based message overhead, and (v) mitigating privacy/security concerns in inter-AS routing. Experimental results indicate that the blockchain technology can be applied on E2E QoS-based routing among networks. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study exploiting the merits of blockchain technology to establish a novel coordination framework for QoS-enabled inter-AS routing in SDN.","PeriodicalId":186939,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom)","volume":"546 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127661137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
