The former ti;pe is built by textually trained architects and the later type is built by the inhabitants themselves through learning the craftmanship from their own experiences. Researches on architecture have been initiated and mostly done by architects and architectural historians. But these researches mainly focussed on the polite architecture. Anthropologists, to some extent, have researched on vernacular architecture but not as much as they have given importance to the study of kinship, religion, societi;, and culture of particular group of people. It refers to the way power is distributed and embedded in society. Political organization has to do with the way power is used in the co-ordination and regulation of behaviour, in such a way that order is maintained. The present study is done on the Karbi tribal group of Karbi Anglong district, Assam. Their traditional political organization has an immense social significance. In the daily livelihood of the concerned people, local administration and social regulations is being maintained by the traditional political organization. The present study is primarily focused on to know about the role and significance of traditional political organization in the socio-cultural and socio-political aspects of the Karbi people. Data has been collected through intensive field work particularly on the basis of case studies and interviews. To achieve the goal a cross sectional study was conducted on sub sample of241 boys and girls (108 girls and 133 boys) of12to18 years of age of district Sagar of Madhya Pradesh. Adolescent symptoms namely age at menarche in girls and hair at auxilian;, moustache and beard were recorded for boys. Beside that anthropometric measurementsheight and weight were also taken following standard procedure. It was found that the underweight boys and girls were on an average 1 year delayed in appearance of adolescent symptom than normal subjects. It is surprising that the stunted girls have on average 6 month early menarche; whereas stunted boys have on an average 8 month delayed appearance of adolescent symptoms. It is a known fact that Africans face several challenges in finding their place within any kind of sociehj. Like most immigrant groups, black migrants must adjust from being the majority in their home society to being a minorihj in the other society. Black migrants, unlike light-skinned migrants, also face an entirely different set of issues directly related to fitting in with other society. They must reconstruct and redefine their identihJ in terms of their present society's system of race relations and hierarchies. This research will make an attempt to study the present status of African migrants in north campus area. It also takes into account their perception of Delhi as a cihj, a place to migrate and live. Although even in the past they faced problems of racism and social exclusion, the recent incidents of discrimination and criminalization against African community have inspired the research to take place. This study attempts to visualize the women's violence facing status and its adaptive capacihJ. Household survey was adopted among the 1600 reproductive aged women in 16 districts of Rajshahi division. To examine the effect of different socio-economic and demographic variables on women's torture by their husband multivariate logistic regression is employed. This study found that the empowerment level is in better position of some women but their spousal relationship is bad or even ven; bad in some cases irrespective of all levels of education than those women who have good spousal relationship. Further those women who face torture b1J both husband as well as family members irrespective of all levels of education, they occupied better empowerment than those who faced any torture. It is visible that inbreeding caused significant difference in all anthropometric measurements recorded (height, weight & head circumference). INTRODUCTION Consanguineous marriage has lots of negative impact on the health of offspring of consanguineous couples. If we go through the literature we find that there is very little work available which shows relation between parental consanguinity and anthropometric measurements. The works of Schull & Neel (1965) on Japanese population suggest that parental consanguinity diminishes body size of the offspring's of consanguineous cou pies. Mortan (1958) reported a slight but significant effect of consanguinity on weight, height and chest girth at the age of nine months. Yaqoob Muhammad (1996) observes effect of inbreeding on the early child health in Lahore, Pakistan. He studied children below 2 years of age and he found that effect of inbreeding on the anthropometric measurement is not consistent. Badaruddoza, Mohd Afzal and Mahazir Ali (1998) observed the effect of parental consanguinity on the fetal growth and development at birth in north India. They concluded that the parental consanguinity cause high incidence of congenital disorders among children and also effects normal growth of consanguineous child. Paddaiah & Reddy (1980) found that inbreeding caused diminution in all anthropometric measurements (weight, height, chest girth, calf girth, and head girth and head length) except head breadth. One of the most commonly found types of monuments in the Greater Guwalzati area of Assam·are the religious stntctures which are in use as temples. These monuments have specific legends associated with them and have some root in mythology. One of the important aspects noticed iu some of the monuments is the presence of nonanthropomorphic shrines which are located in the deep interior of the monuments. These shrines are dedicated to particular Hindu God/Goddess, but they lack a proper anthropomorphic form. These are crude stone structures found in association with idols of Gods and Goddesses prepared on metals. The present paper is an attempt to understand this coexistence of anthropomorphic and non anthropomorphic fomz of shrines in the monuments of Greater Guwahati, Assam from anthropological as well as archaeological perspective. High mortalihJ rate in India led to training ofTBAs followed by tl1eir incorporation into health institutions. Later schemes and policies of Government of India promoted institutional deliveries. It led to change in role and status ofTBAs at the village level. The present study aimed to explore the current transition of traditional birth care institution in Mashobra block, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. It was found that the role ofTBAs was largely taken up by Auxilian; Nurse Midwife (ANMs) and ASHA workers, and TBAs were not included in the priman; health care management at the village level even though, women of the village still looked up to TBAs for primary care.
