Searching a hash tag simply shows a list of tweets, each contains the query hash tag string. To find even more relevant hash tags, we propose to use a graph-based approach to find similar hash tags by using the social network graph around hash tags. We start by using a heterogeneous social graph that contains users, tweets, and hash tags, then we summarize the graph to a hash tag graph that shows the similarity between different hash tags. Finally, we rank the vertices in respect to a query hash tag using a random walk with restart and a content similarity measure. The experimental work demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach compared to baselines.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116385462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional formalisms for representing social networks are static and suffer from the lack of semantics. In this paper, we explore the use of semantic web technologies to support the representation of dynamic social networks. Therefore, we develop the SemTemp ontology which aligns and extends existing ontologies, such as FOAF, SIOC, SKOS and OWL-Time to provide a temporal and semantically rich description of social data. We also present some modeling examples to illustrate how our ontology can be used to effectively model dynamic social network data.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125829174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cloud computing offers a way to reduce the power consumption of mobile devices by offloading computation to the cloud. However, offloading computation means an increase in communication energy consumption. The trade-off between energy and network characteristics (bandwidth/latency) in a mobile device is very important. Therefore computation offloading must be done strategically. The optimum utilization of the available mobile device resources needs to be assured. In this paper, we propose an intelligent and dynamic algorithm to offload computation to the cloud. We focus on offloading computation based upon the communication topology, device energy and user inputs. We analyze the cost of offloading computation for different user inputs. Based on the inputs, we decide whether to offload the application to the cloud or not. We have simulated our algorithm in MATLAB®, and compared our result to previous approaches. We have found out that our algorithm saves more time, compared to a previous approach, and also reduces device energy usage by moving energy hungry processes to the cloud.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126156339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A detailed SWOT Analysis examines the most important factors to be considered for the future of cloud computing. Based on the outcomes, the real value of cloud computing is discussed, followed by the challenges for the future development of cloud computing. Those points finally lead to a statement regarding whether cloud computing represents a new paradigm or if it is just an upcoming trend of the IT industry. The result is that cloud computing is on its way to become the new hosting paradigm. However, there are many issues that will have to be dealt with along the way. As small enterprises start to accept and integrate cloud structures, even bigger enterprises and global players will be introduced. In order to become the new hosting paradigm, further development and an adoption of non-standard technologies by a broad spectrum of users will be necessary.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125198481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, there is a need for new countermeasures against these cyber-attacks which causes disruption to business processes. The evaluation approaches to detect and assess the security risk level of cyber-attacks are harder to develop due to lack of information such as scope of attack and the way it originate. This paper assess the security risk level of those attacks which are targeting to IT, business networks and critical infrastructure, and where malicious user's actions are direct threats to the targeted system but yet not visible by the targeted system. This is achieved after classifying each Google dorks (commands) as an invisible attacks according to their characteristics. In addition, a method is devised to secure any organization's network against invisible attacks by creating a rule in Snort NIDPS signature database. Furthermore, OWASP risk rating methodology is incorporated to assess the overall severity risk level of invisible attacks on the network in terms of high, medium and low. Since, this method does not provide the quantitative security risk value of enterprise network, therefore, quantitative security risk assessment of enterprise network is determined using severity risk assessment table.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126381591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In volunteer computing, the overall job is split into several sub jobs. These sub jobs are given to the (untrusted) PCs of volunteers. We show the performance of our algorithms with respect to double computed sub jobs. Furthermore, we present our idea of using cellular automata to simulate, evaluate, and visualize the cheated sub job result dissemination. Finally, we estimate and visualize the cheat detection behaviour of our cheat detection algorithm for volunteer computing.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125755000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our application exploits Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) image and data processing in real-time on Android platforms. GPR is one of the most advanced technology in civil engineering applications for road pavement monitoring, while water intrusion in structural layers is one of the most relevant causes of damage of road-surfaces. The novelty of this work (that is the power of our application) is to show the consistency of the GPR diagnosis regarding these hidden conditions, implementing GPR image and data processing on smartphones and tablet computers.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125890320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently the enhancement of recommendation services through Linked Open Data (LOD) became a new research area. The ever growing amount of structured data on the web can be used as additional background information for recommender systems. But current approaches in Linked Data recommender systems (LDRS) miss out on an adequate item feature representation in their prediction model and an efficient processing of LOD resources. In this paper, we present a scalable Linked Data recommender system that calculates preferences on multiple property dimensions. The system achieves scalability through parallelization of property-specific rating prediction on a MapReduce framework. Separate prediction results are summarized through a stacking technique. Evaluation results show an increased performance both in terms of accuracy and scalability.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122133870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach comprises three components: (i) a discriminative classifier, namely, Logistic Regression (LR) which selects from a set of most probable sub-regions from where a post might have originated, (ii) a clustering technique, namely, k-means, that adaptively partitions the larger geographic region into sub regions based on the density of the posts, and (iii) a range of techniques to extract a set of hyper-local words from the posts to be fed as features to the LR classifier. The approach is evaluated on a large corpus of tweets collected from Twitter over the NYC, Washington DC, and state of Connecticut regions. The results show that our approach can geo-locate tweets within 1:72 km for NYC, 12:5 km for DC and 37:00 km for CT. These results from three geographically and socially diverse regions suggest that our approach outperforms contemporary methods that estimate locations within ranges of hundreds of kilometers. It can thus support a wide array of services such as location-based advertising, and disaster and emergency response.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122177397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there exist no comprehensive reports about the actual quality of Open Data portals. In this work, we present our efforts to monitor and assess the quality of 82 active Open Data portals, powered by organisations across 35 different countries. We discuss our quality metrics and report comprehensive findings by analysing the data and the evolution of the portals since September 2014. Our results include findings about a steady growth of information, a high heterogeneity across the portals for various aspects and also insights on openness, contact ability and the availability of meta data.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"312 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132311308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
