Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Video on demand (VOD) and pay per view (PPV) applications use multicasting with wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). Thus, we worked on providing multicast over Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks with a novel protocol named Precalculated Path Multicast (PPM). Protocol's structure and process is explained with state diagrams. Here, in addition to basic message types: join/leave and pause/continue that are used during the sessions, special message types are designed. Most convenient message types are proposed in the project that may trigger the actions and may change the states at the diagrams.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123054717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has caused in many cases a lot of distress and confusion to customers who have been often subjected to the \"vendor lock-in\" phenomenon, because of interoperability and portability issues often arising among different Cloud providers. In this paper we provide a brief introduction to the basic definitions of Cloud Computing, portability and interoperability and we also describe a set of established use cases. All these notions are mapped to a multi-dimensional space, which is used to classify both definitions and use cases. The focus here is represented by portability and interoperability features.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114814768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Het Nets, small cells play a key role in offloading user data traffic from congested macro-cells and extending the limited coverage of macro-cells. However, the use of small cells is still impeded by the issues of coexistence and efficient operation, as small cells are characterized by limited resources, large-scale random deployment, and a lack of coordination. In this paper, we focus on user association problem in Het Net, and we propose a new scheme by applying the Voronoi diagram, a powerful computational geometry technique, to solve the user connection problem in which a user has several stations within his range from which to choose. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme can significantly increase the number of admitted users and system throughput.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133825678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the volume of data they generate is becoming difficult to store and process on local platforms. The scalability offered by Cloud computing provides a solution to this problem. Cloud computing provides resources at low cost for its users. However, platform-independent methods of gathering and transmitting sensor data to Clouds are not widely available. This paper presents a Cloud-based smart device data monitoring, gathering and processing platform. It first reviews the state-of-the-art embodied by the existing solutions and discusses their strengths and weaknesses. Informed by the survey analysis, a generic architecture is presented that addresses the identified challenges facing data gathering and processing in this area. Based on use case scenarios, we evaluate and demonstrate the novelty of our proposed platform.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133200677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These data can be used in the design of intelligent systems to predict and measure properties of the marine environment. One environmental factor that is very important to maritime transportation and safety is sea state, that is, the \"roughness\" of the sea surface. Sea state is dependent on winds, but can vary significantly with location and over time, based on a wide range of factors. We show how publicly available sensor data can be used to detect and predict local sea state. To do this, we will discuss various techniques that can help us deal with a large set of echo sounder data, and aggregate it in a way that allows basic machine learning techniques to categorize the local sea state at a given time according to the Douglas Sea Scale.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121685245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, it is vital to establish a good awareness of all descanter's resources in order to enable allocation \"placement\" policies to make the best decision in reducing the required time for the creation and allocation of a VM at a proper host. Most of current placement \"allocation\" algorithms have a leakage in the broad awareness of datacenter's resources with adverse impactions on the allocation progress of their policies. This paper presents a new Agent-based placement policy that employs some multi-agent system's features to achieve a good awareness of Cloud Datacenter's resources and also provide an efficient allocation decision for the requested VMs. Consequently, it reduces the response time of VM allocation and usage of occupied resources. The agent-based policy is implemented by using the Cloud Sim toolkit [10, 11] and is favourably compared against the toolkit's own default policy. The comparative study is based on typical numerical experiments, focusing on the response time of VM allocation and other aspects such as the number of available VM types and the amount of occupied resources.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121911753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, at the designing stage the risk assessment model has little information about the dynamic environment. Hence, any missing information can directly impact the situational assessment capabilities. With this in mind, researchers relied on various performance metrics in order to verify how well they were doing in assessing different situations. In fact, before measuring the ranking capabilities of the SWA system, the underlying performance metrics should be examined against its intended purpose. In this paper, we have conducted quality based evaluations for the performance metrics, namely \"The Ranking Capability Score\". The results obtained showed that the proposed performance metrics have scaled well over a number of scenarios. Indeed, from the data fusion perspectives the underlying metrics have adequately satisfied different SWA system needs and configurations.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125192550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While SMF uses a proactive selection of forwarding nodes, ODMRP is a reactive approach to multicast routing. For the evaluation, we use an two-step approach. First, we perform emulation-based measurements in a virtualized test bed utilizing the ns-3 IEEE 802.11 model. Then, we do real-world experiments with an actual IEEE 802.11 ad-hoc test bed in order to compare the results and increase the overall credibility of our analysis. The comparison highlights differences in the performance of ODMRP and SMF, both in the real-world measurements and the emulation-based results. Our results show, that the scoped flooding approach of ODMRP might increase the applicability of multicast routing in community networks.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126749967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates structural social capital in the form of brokerage and closure through the lens of triadic analysis in four popular and public online social networks, namely, Facebook, Twitter, Slashdot, and You Tube. Through a ratio of the census of open and closed triads, the analysis reveals that these four networks are overwhelmingly rich in brokerage capital. Brokerage triads are further classified into three types according to the role of the broker: (i) Tertius Gaudens (broker as a competitor), (ii) Tertius Inguens (broker as a coordinator), and (iii) Conduit (broker as a mediator). Closure triads are further classified according to the number of mutual dyadic connections. Exploring the distributions of brokerage and closure classes and their constituent triads reveals that for each online social network (OSN) these proportions are deeply rooted in the purpose and objectives of socialization. On Facebook, users form relationships for social sharing, and nurture these bonds based on strong offline friendships. Relationships on Twitter serve two purposes, social sharing and gathering news and information. Finally, users on Slashdot and You Tube create links based on their shared interests in news stories and videos respectively, and appear less interested in cultivating friendships.","PeriodicalId":182204,"journal":{"name":"2015 3rd International Conference on Future Internet of Things and Cloud","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126153187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
