Path planning is achieved using an open-loop model with anticipated feedback while dynamically capturing incoming new requests and real action outcomes/observations as exogenous events, to timely adjust search path plans using coevolution. The approach takes advantage of objective function separability and conditional observation probability independence to efficiently minimize expected system entropy, lateness and travel/discovery time respectively. Computational results clearly show the value of the approach in comparison to a myopic heuristics over various problem instances.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126594181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This will lead to the development of methods and algorithms, for instance, of fleet management, routing within a specified time windows and risk assessment. In this paper we will focus on proposing a method for finding itineraries that has the fastest travel-time on a time-dependent transportation network. It is modelled as a weighted graph, whose weight are time duration that depends on the time at which the road segment is traversed. This problem can be solved in polynomial time with a Single-Source algorithm, by the definition of some restrictions on the edge weights. However, its application on a graph with several millions nodes and edges is highly memory and time consuming. Alternatively, a bidirectional Point-to-Point path search, using A-star, offers far better performance. The novelty of the proposed approach is based on the modelling of an appropriate degree of dynamics of a real-world network by considering the fuzzy nature of the travel-time using Zadeh's fuzzy concept. In addition, we speed-up search by integrating a pre-computation phase, which consists in network partitioning using network Voronoi diagrams with implicit calculation of the lower-bound travel-time label for each node-to-border, border-to-border and border-to-node. Those labels should never overestimate the travel-time at any moment, to ensure the reliability of the suggested heuristic cost function.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128928890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One mayor source of the dissatisfaction is caused by missing or inconsistent information about the duration and route of planned trips in case of disruptions. Existing possibilities to interact with the transportation company generally does not lead to changes in the disruption management process. To overcome these limitations, we propose to use mobile communication techniques to transfer bi-directional information between the customer and the transportation company via an information platform. This allows to include on-site information from customers in operational decisions as well as fast and consistent information in case of plan changes. Therefore, our proposed solution allows structural process changes which would increase the customer satisfaction by means.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126847773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Healthcare supply chain management (HSCM) using Discrete Event Simulation (DES) has received in literature considerable attention for more than two decades. Despite the widespread literature on this topic, efforts to review and analyze previous studies are very limited. For this reason, this paper proposes a new conceptual classification scheme to classify current developments of the use of the DES in Healthcare Management research. More than 30 papers published studies within 2003-2013 were classified and analyzed. This proposed conceptual classification scheme is based on the healthcare facilities application, the type of decision making (strategic, tactical and operational), and the application category. It could be useful for researchers as a starting point to facilitate further improvement in the HSCM field because it provides a faster access and understanding of the relevant literature. This paper offers a comprehensive reference work, which groups the publications into the application fields and gives brief summary on the background, application and methodology applied for each reviewed article.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128346243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is why there is a growing concern on the part of organizations on the issue of logistics information systems audit. In this paper, we adopt a methodology for auditing logistics information systems, in case of information systems of procurement logistics. This approach is based on a multi-criteria hierarchical tree and is built around a decision support system called SADAUDIT. The approach presented in this paper has been applied in a real-life setting in order to audit their procurement logistics information systems. The results obtained are in favor of the robustness of the approach.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"197 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124363361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimization process is carried out on a number of flights over a period of time and is performed sequentially between one flight to the next flight with the principle of first come first served. Optimization is based on the principle of choosing the shortest path between the start and end of the movement of aircraft on the taxiway area, taking into account the holding time which may result due to avoiding any conflict in the taxiway area. The best path is the one with the minimum total taxiing time and holding time within a set of alternative paths. Set is determined by the shortest path principle. Optimization is limited by the maximum allowable holding time, as well as minimum separation distance between aircrafts on the taxiway area. The proposed algorithm is applied on an illustrative example of case of Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport. Results show that the optimization model could provide a better total time than the one of current practice.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131640158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the same context, this paper uses the Ecological Footprint tool into developing an evaluating process to estimate and improve the environmental performance of Tunisian supply chains. Several Ecological Footprint studies until today were focused on a national scale. However, this one examines the retailer's case as the last component of the supply chain, in order to evaluate and ameliorate its environmental performance, on a sustainably perspective. Such a tool, is standardized by the Global Footprint Network and it is based on the conversion of consumptions and emissions in biologically surfaces.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"363 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133397844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although many simulation platforms (either commercial or open source) exist to test, validate and evaluate the performance of control systems, the development of platforms that integrate specific requirements of public transport systems still requires much investigation and effort. This paper reviews the main features of traditionally used simulation platforms. A comparative analysis is provided based on different criteria related to infrastructure, vehicles or the ability to implement and test intelligent and distributed control architectures. The financial and economy crisis in 2008 influenced all industrial branches and their supply chains in a great deal. Competitiveness across global markets is evident in many ways such as cost, quality or time delivery. The industrial companies must manage all processes in their inner and outer supply chains thru their integrated logistics management systems. General logistics management system of a company is composed of subsystems which can be classified as purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing, packaging, distribution and reverse material flows management. One of the logistics objectives is to plan, to manage and to control all rising material flows inside particular mentioned subsystems. Thus, the foundation of effective logistics management system is layout drawing documentation in required detail. The paper deals with very up-to-date topic, how and in which sequence to create layout drawing documentation of company's areas. The documentation should be created in given order and in appropriate detail level. For this purpose has been developed methodics which has been applied in an industrial sphere. According to the created methodics, the documentation should be included the layout drawings of industrial zone, production halls, production lines, production workshops, production cells and production workplaces, etc. As soon as the documentation is created in a company, the integrated logistics management system can start to be built and then all material processes can be effectively realized or optimized. The development of new methodics or methodologies is crucial for innovations today.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128894966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The collection and the disposal of IHW are highly visible and important services that involve large expenditures in the world and particularly in Tunisia. This paper discusses two main problems in the current solid IHW management practices in Sfax governorate (Tunisia). The first problem is about how choose the best waste treatment and disposal scenario, using a multiple criteria decision making analysis. The Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) implemented with Expert choice software, confirms that the best scenario is to apply central steam sterilization equipment, which will be used by all hospitals. Accordingly, the second problem concerns the off-site transport of IHW from the twelve hospitals (public and private) in the governorate of Sfax to this overall center. This problem of transportation is modeled as a capacitated vehicle routing problem (CVRP). Experimental results are reported for the design of the routing system for IHW transportation, using the solver CPLEX 9.0 software. Future legislation concerning IHW management is supposed to take into account the various results of this research.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129105242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
