Given a set of customer orders for products, the decision maker needs to decide from which supplier to purchase custom parts required for each customer order to minimize total cost and mitigate the impact of disruption risks. Many approaches have been developed in the literature based on various formal modeling techniques. In this paper, Stochastic Mixed Linear Program (MILP) techniques are used for the selection of suppliers under risk disruption. Two set of disruption scenarios are considered: (1) scenario with independent local disruption of each supplier, and (2) scenario with local and global disruption that may result in all suppliers simultaneously. The two percentiles: Value at risk (VaR) and conditional value at risk (CVaR) are used to model the risk of supply chain disruption. It be concluded that these percentiles are capable to optimizing the supply portfolio by minimizing expects worst-case per part via calculating the value at risk of expected cost part. The extension of this study seems very interesting for the risk analysis in complex supply chains.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121856991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) is about how to group the assembly activities, which have to be performed in an assembly task, into workstations, so that the total assembly time required at each workstation is approximately the same (cycle time). In this paper, an ALBP is studied in a real-world automotive cables manufacturer company. This company found it necessary to balance its line, since it needs to increase the production rate. In this line type, the number of stations is known and the objective is to minimize cycle time where both precedence and zoning constrains must be satisfied. For this purpose, a hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) based on genetic algorithm scheme and local search procedures is implemented and fully characterized. The results of comparative studies with CPLEX software exact solutions show that the proposed HGA approach is very effective and competitive.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116152936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose to solve a seafaring staff scheduling problem through the use of the Artificial Bee Colony method. The central aim of this work is to offer a productive way in order to release a benchmarking between the results produced by the artificial Bee Colony method and those obtained by the traditionally applied method. The results show that this method outperforms the traditional one. Besides, this algorithm enables us to give the maximum of coverage with a less computational time.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"59 3-4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120919466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the very important problems in this matter is the management of returns. As returned products are products with defects, there is always the possibility for proper treatment. Decisions about further management of defective product is difficult, regarding the product and its parts environmental impacts. Here, the useful tool is life cycle assessment (LCA), that can support reverse logistics processes in case of defective products management. LCA is used to assess environmental impact of cellular phone and 6 possible scenarios of its handling in case of any defects. The assessment shows that reuse and repair scenarios are helpful in mitigating environmental impact in life cycle while waste scenario and also recycling scenario have much higher impact.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"os-4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127758288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The management of these events is known as Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) which is defined, in a collaborative way with partners, as a set of tools for dealing with risk and uncertainty caused by, or having an impact on the activities and logistical resources. In this context, it is important to study the influences of these actors to each other, their strategies, their convergences and divergences of objectives and their balance of power to a better risk management. The purpose of this paper is to apply MACTOR (Matrix of Alliances and Conflicts: Tactics, Objectives and Recommendations) method to evaluate the balance of power between supply actors. Then, actors' convergences and divergences towards a number of issues and objectives associated with risk management are analyzed. Therefore, the most suitable risk mitigation strategies for each supply actor are constructed. A real case study in food industry is provided in order to illustrate the application of MACTOR method. The findings are very useful for all supply actors and it may also useful to the practitioners in risk management, since the method used here can be applied in other areas of management as well.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127759417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work we tackle the pickup and delivery of passengers namely Demand Responsive Transport. Its idea is to group a number of passengers in the same vehicle with the respecting of the capacity of each vehicle in order to reduce operational cost with the maintaining of high quality service. This paper presents an exact Method which is the Branch and Bound Algorithm to solve a new variant of Demand Responsive Transport which is based on service quality but not as an option it is an obligation. The Multi-Vehicle Demand Responsive Transport Problem Based on Service Quality in the case of Oneto-One(MVSDRTPBSQ1-t-1) under study presented the following characteristics: Users specify transportation requests between origins and destinations, each customer have his own origin and own destination, they may provide a time window on their desired departure or arrival time. All demands are knows before the pacification of vehicles tours and the transportation is supplied by a fleet of vehicle based at a common depot. The aim of this paper is to find the best routing scheduled of all receipt requests with the respecting of hard Time Windows of each customer, its mean that the most important is the service quality of each customer. The novelty of our paper is presented in the new manner of algorithm application. However, we will trying to take the general architecture of Branch & Bound algorithm and using valuation rules in a different way which can adapted for such problem to find an optimal solution.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116912715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main role of a sterilization service is the disinfection of the reusable medical devices used in surgical operation rooms. Sterilization process has a well-defined cycle and it consists of the following steps: washing, cleaning, checking, packaging, and sterilization. Some of these steps are processed manually and others are processed on special machines. We propose a variable neighborhood descent based heuristic to minimize the makespan of the tasks processed manually on the sterilization services in the hospital “Jolimont”. Benchmarks based on data from hospitals are generated and computational experiments are done.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134644842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The physical flow, considered here, is a group of containers. To optimize these flows, we have developed a mathematical model proposing an allocation of incoming vessels on the waterfront in a way to minimize the total distance traveled by containers loaded / unloaded in the port area. As it is difficult to solve realistic problems within the imposed constraints, we propose a mathematical model to achieve our goals by respecting imposed constraints. This model is solved using different metaheuristics : genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, and the algorithm of ants colony optimisation and hybridization of the genetic algorithm and simulated annealing. The results of calculations and comparisons between these metaheuristics are presented in this article. These results are compared with others obtained by CPLEX for the same model and the same data.","PeriodicalId":166090,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport (ICALT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123861990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
