Patient survival can be increased by prompt supportive care. In this study, we evaluated a case of aluminium phosphide intentional poisoning in an adult patient. The patient had toxic myocarditis and developed ST elevation on ECG during hospital course, raised troponins and global hypokinesia on echocardiogram. The patient was managed by trimetazidine, intravenous magnesium sulphate, n-acetylcysteine and inotropes. Follow-up echocardiogram, three months later was normal. These developments have led to its inculcation into educational institutions and programs. This study intended to understand the impact of using VR training on Indian medical students. Over 200 students from KIMS were enrolled in a VR-integrated curriculum program consisting of 10 modules across an academic year (Aug 2021-June 2022). After completion of all modules in the guided and evaluation modes, each student was asked to fill out an online questionnaire. An objective analysis of the results suggested that it was an interesting form of learning (61% of students), one that was more effective than manikin training (47%), bringing an increased level of confidence post training (92%). Feedback on the modules included satisfactory learning points, room for improvement in the visual graphics, and positive opinions on the assessment aspect. Overall, this study found that medical students perceived VR training as a fun and effective way to not only educate but assess them on procedural skills. Limitations included the need for repeated practice and the need to develop more realism in the digital environment to bring greater immersion. Keywords: Virtual Reality, Healthcare Training, VR Skill Training, Medical Simulation, KIMS.","PeriodicalId":16362,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139333720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To limit the spread of theSARS-CoV-2 virus that caused the pandemic, Saudi Arabia took precautionary steps like many other countries.COVID-19 symptoms typically resemble those of a cold and include a cough, fever, dyspnea, anosmia, ageusia, and headache. Not only did the COVID-19 have an impact on physical health, but also on mental health. Numerous factors, regardless of age, including work-related stress, lockdowns, social isolation, and quarantine in response to contain SARS-CoV-2 have a negative impact on the mental health of large populations. Individuals and communities have been impacted by public health emergencies, which have led to strong emotions and unhealthy behaviors. The most common manifestations of psychological problems are disorders of anxiety, depression, and panic. Due to the rapid spread of the disease, persistent efforts were put into developing a vaccine as soon as possible. Despite the fact that vaccines have been widely disseminated and given to large populations, there is still vaccine hesitancy, which may be brought on by concerns about the effectiveness of the vaccines, early trials, and related side effects. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia started the vaccination process in December 2020. BioNTech/Pfizer and AstraZeneca are the vaccines that are being used in Saudi Arabia. The most common side effect of the COVID-19 vaccines is mild to moderate pain at the injection site. Fatigue, headache, fever, chills, and myalgia have also been reported. The side effects are reported to last for one day. This study aims to assess the psychological impact of the COVID-19 vaccine on the adult population of Saudi Arabia.","PeriodicalId":16362,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139333779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hypercoagulability is a prominent feature in diabetic patients, contributing to thrombotic complications. This study explores the coagulation profile in Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, focusing on the correlation with glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Aim: The study aims to assess coagulation impairment in T2DM through routine prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) measurements, thereby preventing thromboembolic cardiovascular disease (CVD). It further examines the relationship between coagulation parameters, HbA1c, and diabetes duration.","PeriodicalId":16362,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139331883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the identification of chronic coccygeal pain hundreds of yearsago, its treatment can be difficult and sometimes controversial because of the multifactorial nature of coccygeal pain.[1] Many Physiologic and psychological factors contribute to its etiology. Most cases of coccydynia resolve within weeks to months with or without conservative treatment, but for a few patients the pain can become chronic and debilitating.[2] Coccydynia is pain located in the coccygeal bone or the surrounding tissues. Coccydynia is a relatively rare condition, occurring more frequently in females and in all ages. Coccydynia is most frequently associated with single axis traumatic injury, childbirth, obesity, and rapid weight-loss related to gastric bypass surgery. There are several etiologies to the occurrence of secondary coccydynia, such as cancer pain, infection.[3]","PeriodicalId":16362,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139333587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
