Diabetic retinopathy as a complication of diabetes mellitus and age-related macular degeneration are the most common causes of vision loss in the working population. The main features of these diseases include their asymptomatic course in the early stages of development. Early diagnosis of retinal pathologies and, as a result, early complex treatment, can greatly slow down the progression. The diagnosis is made by highly qualified specialists, but with the development of machine learning, there is the possibility of automated screening of retinal pathologies on digital images of optical coherence tomography of the eye. The purpose of this study is to develop a mathematical model for diagnosing retinal pathology in optical coherence tomography images of the eye. Materials and methods. An open database of images of optical coherence tomography of the eye was used as materials. All images were classified into four classes, of which three classes are different retinal pathologies. The following models were used as multidimensional models: logistic regression, naive bayes classifier, random forest, nearest neighbors, support vector machine, neural network, convolutional neural network. Results. Most of the models showed accuracy below 70%. The best result is obtained by the convolutional neural network with a result of 89.7%, followed by the support vector machine with an accuracy of 71.1% and the neural network with 70.8%. Conclusion. As a result, the use of multidimensional models, in particular convolutional neural networks, can show a high accuracy value, which allows using this model as a program to support medical decision making.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125990849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parkinson's disease is a common chronic neurodegenerative disease that impairs the quality of life. Currently, there are no drugs that can cure this disease. Early detection of pathology will improve the accuracy of diagnosis and prognosis, as well as start therapy at the stage when it can be most effective. Positron emission tomography with the radiopharmaceutical 18F-DOPA allows the detection of dopaminergic deficiency in patients with Parkinson's disease at the preclinical stage and differential diagnosis with essential tremor, in which dopamine-producing neurons are not affected. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of various classification methods to differentiate patients with Parkinson's disease from other study groups. Materials and methods. The study involved 3 groups: healthy individuals (n = 33), patients with Parkinson's disease (n = 32) and patients with essential tremor (n = 29). The following classification methods were used in our work: naive Bayes classifier, k-nearest neighbors, random forest, logistic regression and artificial neural network. Results. All considered methods showed high quality of classification. The logistic regression model showed the highest results. The lowest values of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were shown by the k-nearest neighbors’ method. Conclusion. Mathematical models will allow individual diagnosis of PD based on 18F-DOPA PET data with sensitivity, specificity and accuracy above 95%.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"415 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124162503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The substance was synthesized at JSC All-Union Research Center of Biological Compounds Safety. Experiments were performed on 15 male Sprague-Dawley rats, which were unilaterally occluded under isoflurane anesthesia. Animals were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham-operated, control with ischemia, and experimental group, in which rats received 3-EA solution intravenously for 7 days after pathology modeling at a daily dose of 18 mg/kg. The rats of the first two groups received an equivalent volume of isotonic 0.9% sodium chloride solution. On days 1, 3 and 7, the neurological picture was recorded. On the 7th day, the volume of brain damage was assessed in the MTT test, and the degree of morphological disorders was determined in the prepared Nissl-stained sections. The results were evaluated by the methods of variation statistics. We found that the introduction of 3-EA at a dose of 18 mg/kg is accompanied by a decrease in the volume of ischemic damage to the brain tissue on the side of occlusion of the middle cerebral artery by an average of 17%, while when compared with animals in the control series, a reduction of more than two times is observed. the number of dead neurons against the background of a decrease in the depth of pathomorphological changes in the brain substance. In the chemical classification, they belong to water-soluble polyphenols. There are 2 classes of tannins: hydrolyzable (formed by polyatomic alcohol) and non-hydrolyzable (formed by condensation of phenolic compounds). Tannin derived from plants belongs to pharmacopoeia preparations. Most often in pharmacology it is used as an astringent and local anti-inflammatory agent. In addition, there is information about its antioxidant and anti-cancer properties of tannin. The mechanisms by which almost all the properties of both hydrolyzable and condensed tannins are realized are based on the regulation of the activity of the corresponding key enzymes; in most cases, this may be their activation to trigger a cascade of biochemical reactions. In addition, condensed tannins, due to their weak ability to dissolve, are able to precipitate and inactivate other substances (for example, cholesterol, external and internal antigens) due to the binding ability of gallic and tannic acids with biological molecules and prevent their excessive accumulation in the body. Some plants (for example, legumes, raspberries, persimmons, bananas) contain tannic acids with neuroprotective properties and antidepressant effects, the mechanism of which is associated with a decrease in the activity of acetylcholinesterase, as well as the effect on the activity of Na + / K+-ATPase and Ca2+- ATPase. Extracts of tannins have a hypoglycemic effect due to the inactivation of α-amylases, lipases and glucosidases; this property can be used to develop drugs for the prevention and treatment of diabetes mellitus.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116418969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Great importance is attached to the influence of traditional factors on health: smoking, alcohol, physical inactivity and overweight. It is quite difficult to assess the role played by secondary factors in maintaining health: stress resistance, sleep quality, full-time or part-time education. The purpose of the study was to conduct a comparative assessment of the prevalence of factors in the formation of commitment to health-building behavior among students of an engineering and technical university in indifferent groups. Materials and research methods: the process of self-assessment of health included a biographical research method, a block of sociological testing, a questionnaire, and an assessment of the quality of life. When describing the results of the study, the form of education and belonging to persons with disabilities are not mentioned. The students were divided into 3 groups depending on the state of health and the form of education. The hypothesis of the study was that they assumed a high correlation of behavioral risk factors in part-time students with a low level of stress resistance and a lower quality of life. We expected to receive information about the low quality of life in people with disabilities. During the study, the hypothesis was not confirmed. A high social status was determined for all respondents: the provision of separate housing, a living wage for one family member above the average, complete families. In both groups, full-time students have an equal attitude to personal health resources and a high level of stress. An analysis of behavioral factors of harm to health showed a significantly higher prevalence of smoking and a tolerant attitude to alcohol, high working capacity during the day and resistance to workload stress among students of distance learning. This fact caused difficulties in interpreting the relationship between traditional factors of harm to health and high indicators of the quality of life among working students. We noted general trends towards a decrease in smoking. All students showed a tendency to low reflection and understanding of lifestyle, which is confirmed by the biographical method of research and interviews.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123515112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The probability of a favorable outcome after the treatment is quite high, which in turn is supported by the long-term results obtained after using various approaches in the rehabilitation of patients with a reduced volume of jaw bone tissue. Of course, the rehabilitation of such patients is difficult not only in terms of surgical preparation, but also in terms of orthopedic benefits, which impose restrictions on the capabilities of the patient's chewing and speech apparatus. In turn, the patient is faced with the task of maintaining as long as possible the result that the doctor originally sought, namely, using various methods of bone grafting, to create the necessary amount of bone tissue for the installation of implants, which are later used for orthopedic constructions, largely replenishing the functional characteristics. previously lost dentition. There are many studies that are devoted to modern methods of rehabilitation of patients with reduced alveolar processes of the jaws, however, only a small part affects the observation of delayed results of treatment of patients using bone grafting methods in combination with dental implantation. One of the advantages of this study is the ability to follow in dynamics what happens to these patients over a time period of up to 10 years, how strong the adaptive capabilities of the body are after major surgical interventions, what patient management tactics turned out to be the most effective. The assessment of the quality of life of such patients makes it possible to fully determine the feasibility of the operations and techniques to restore the function of the masticatory-speech apparatus.\u0000The duration of the positive result obtained directly depends on the further interaction between the doctor and the patient. The key point is the dispensary observation of the patient, as a result of which the doctor gains clinical experience, and therefore the ability to predict further complications with one or another approach to the rehabilitation of patients in this category. On the other hand, for an objective assessment of the treatment performed, it is necessary to determine a common denominator that reflects the quality of life of our patients, therefore, the article presents the results of chewing assessment, as a fundamental criterion for the quality of life for most of these patients, using the SF-36 questionnaire, which is a kind of translator between subjective feelings of the patient and an objective assessment of the doctor.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129572402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Implant placement in the above situations requires timely preparation of deficient alveolar ridge by means of osteoplastic surgery. In its turn, the newly formed regenerated bone by its histological, physicomechanical and structural-functional properties can only approach the recipient bone tissue; therefore, the issue of implant osseointegration and its functional loading in regenerated bone remains debatable. \u0000This research uses the method of frequency-resonance analysis showing implant stability coefficient numerically equal to the ISQ (Implant stability Quotient) values and reflecting the percentage of the osseointegration area of the intraosseous part of the implant. The results of research obtained by means of frequency-resonance analysis have proved that with the timely start of implant usage and adequate functional loading, ISQ values increase, that is, increases the osseointegration area along the interface of the intraosseous part of the implant placed in regenerated bone. \u0000Comparative results of research reflecting ISQ values in 12 months after implant placement in bone augmented using various forms of autogenous bonegrafts, have been presented; therefore, a conclusion can be made that there is a direct relationship between osseointegration under conditions of functional chewing load and the shape and size of autogenous bonegrafts.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"343 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134501455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A prerequisite for the development of these pathologies is atherosclerosis. It is now recognized that drug therapy is leading in curbing the development of atherosclerosis and subsequent complications. In this regard, the urgency of the search for new lipid-lowering drugs aimed at the treatment of this disease is increasing. Recent studies have shown the promise of using the benzothiophene backbone for the synthesis of new effective drugs, since this core has various biological and pharmacological activities, which makes it possible to obtain effective antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tuberculosis, antidiabetic, anticonvulsant and other drugs on its basis.The purpose of this study was to study the lipid-lowering effect of the azomethine derivative 2-amino-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-benzothiophene-3-carboxamide, a substance under the laboratory code BF-10, on some indicators of lipid metabolism in healthy rats and under pathological conditions with experimental hyperlipidemia. Atorvastatin was chosen as the reference drug. Determination of biochemical parameters of lipid metabolism in the blood serum and in the liver homogenate (the content of cholesterol, triglycerides, total lipids, LDL, VLDL and HDL) was determined by unified biochemical methods using standard Olvex Diagnosticum kits on a Dixion Torus 120 analyzer. Based on the analysis of the obtained data on the effect of the BF-10 substance on lipid metabolism, it can be concluded that they are comparable with the action of the highly effective reference drug atorvastatin, which allows us to expand information on the spectrum of biological activity of azomethine derivatives and consider the compound under the laboratory code BF-10 promising for further development.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116156307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employees of law enforcement agencies (the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, emergency staffs) are included in the list of dangerous professions. Their work is associated with the presence of a threat to life and health, psychological and physical overstrain, fatigue, suddenness of events with a shortage of time, information overload, etc. Their adaptive mechanisms are often distorted. Among them, one of the most vulnerable is the endocrine system. The aim is to study the hormonal supply of the body with the pituitary – thyroid gland system in persons of dangerous professions (law enforcement officers) at various levels of professional strain. Materials and methods: in different groups of law enforcement officers (combatants, regular policemen, cadets), a study was conducted to identify the features of thyroid hormone status (thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) were determined). The results of the study: the analysis of the results showed the presence of statistically significant differences in most of the studied indicators between the study groups. In the group of combatants, the average level of TSH and T3 is higher compared to other participants in the study. Thus, the dependence of the secretory function of the pituitary-thyroid link of endocrine regulation on the nature of service and the degree of professional load is statistically proved. It is concluded that the identified features of the thyroid secretory function in law enforcement officers are an adaptive response to various requirements during the performance of professional duties. It is assumed that with prolonged exposure to stress factors, prolonged hormonal stress, dysfunctions of their regulation are possible, leading to disruption of interhormonal interactions, probable disruption of the adaptation process and maintenance of homeostasis in general.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115006680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Molecular genetic study of SNPs rs1799983 and rs1801131 of the NOS3 gene, rs4673 of the CYBA gene was carried out on 417 people. The collection of representative material was carried out on the basis of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Yakut Republican Clinical Hospital and the NEFU Clinic. As a result of a genetic study, it was found that in carriers of the mutant allele for the rs1799983 polymorphism of the NOS3 gene, the probability of developing liver cirrhosis is 1.81 times higher (0.176–0.098, CI 95%,), in carriers of the rs4673 mutant allele of the CYBA gene, the probability of developing liver cirrhosis is higher by 1.9 times (0.211–0.111, CI 95%), in carriers of the mutant allele for the rs2070744 polymorphism of the NOS3 gene, the probability of developing liver cirrhosis is 2.03 times higher (0.181–0.089, CI 95%). Thus, the obtained results indicate the need for additional studies of these genes, since they can be predictors of the development of liver cirrhosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis B in the Yakut population.","PeriodicalId":161741,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin \"Biomedicine and sociology\"","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127743155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
