We propose a mechanism for controlling the bandwidth of the ALE, in an adaptive manner. The proposed mechanism increases the bandwidth of the ALE whenever its peak is not close to a spectral line of the input signal, to assure its fast convergence, and decreases the bandwidth of the ALE when its peak matches a spectral line of the input signal, to enhance that spectral line further. Also, a new algorithm for robust adaptation of the ALE is proposed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158681,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ICCS '94","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121019680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We study the hierarchical shared memory ATM switch architecture in which the queues for all the switch output ports share space flexibly in a common buffer. Using computer simulation of this shared buffer ATM switch under both uniform and bursty traffic, we investigate the delay and cell loss probability (CLP) for the each class of traffic. Our finding supports the MPQ model as a worthwhile strategy for buffer management to improve the quality of service (QOS) in an ATM etwork.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158681,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ICCS '94","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124479964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The antenna consists of an antenna panel and a reflector. A dielectric substrate is used for the antenna panel, on which is etched the spiral elements and the feed circuit on both sides of the dielectric substrate. Thus, the antenna panel and the reflector are completely separate to each other. Therefore, it is convenient to carry the antenna because of the possibility of integration of the antenna panel and reflector.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158681,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ICCS '94","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122594445","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Essentially, the ten, variances are reduced by dividing the original system into several spatially shifted power inversion arrays, averaging the weight vectors of these arrays, and determining the zeros of the spatially averaged weight vector. Equations for the optimal averaging weights and the ensuing variance performance are derived and verified by simulation results. It is found that the new technique may reduce the zero variance substantially when compared with taking the entire system as a single array.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158681,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ICCS '94","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131524828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First of all the necessity of the new addressing scheme is described and then the requirement for the ring type ATM-LAN addressing is described. At last we will suggest a new addressing scheme for solving some problems in the existing addressing scheme and for improving usage of the network capacity. The new addressing scheme deletes connectionless cells as well as connection oriented cells at the destination node for the spatial reuse. Also proposed scheme is studied when network is interconnected to existing LANs and B-ISDN through IWU (Interworking Unit). The new addressing scheme is very useful for accommodating multicast and broadcast application in the various on-coming B-ISDN services.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158681,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of ICCS '94","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126321849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
