In contrast with previous work the present authors focus on the performance analysis of a system that can have given auto- and crosscorrelation sidelobes between the spreading codes. They present a novel approach based on the multivariable probability generator function of the level of interferences which facilitates the calculation of packet error probability for different systems without error correcting codes. In the paper the lower bound of the throughput is calculated. And its asymptotic behaviour is considered, when the length of the DS code goes to infinity. Generally the chip spread ALOHA model is analyzed, but the results can be used in the case of bit spread ALOHA systems.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158358,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133451690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is based on transforming the two dimensional code Doppler (D) and delay (t) uncertainty region (D,t) into a new uncertainty region (T/sub c/,t) where T/sub c/ is the period of the correlation pulses at the output of a sliding correlator. When Doppler rate is present the three dimensional uncertainty region (D, R/sub t/,t) is transformed into a new one (T/sub c/, R/sub t/,t) where R/sub d/ and R/sub t/ are Doppler rate and correlation pulse period rate respectively. The main motivation for this work is to find new algorithms which are suitable for all digital receiver implementation. In the implementation of these new algorithms rather complex FFT hardware components are now replaced by much simpler components such as accumulators. These algorithms make CDMA techniques feasible in the communication between LEO satellite and small ground based user terminals. Personal communications based on LEO satellites is an option that has been considered extensively for rural areas. A comprehensive performance study of the new PN code acquisition system is presented and discussed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158358,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116047913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(1990), using decision feedback (DFB) filter, in reducing the narrowband interference (NBI) is presented. In the first stage of this new receiver, the conventional demodulator is followed by a DFB filter, the role of which is to produce the NBI reference signal. The reference derived in this manner is the input signal to the two-sided adaptive transversal (AT) filter, this being used as a NBI rejection filter. The performance of such a receiver has been analyzed in term of the output error probability. The results obtained show that this two-stage DFB filter techniques enhance the immunity of the new DSSS receiver against NBI, relative to the previously reported receivers using linear and nonlinear NBI rejection methods.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158358,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130215226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For spread spectrum multiple access, co-channel interference (CCI) limits the performance of a communication link. To remove this interference, several CCI cancellation techniques have been proposed. Especially techniques which do not require the receiver to have knowledge of the cross-correlation between user sequences have been presented. However, these methods leave residual interference after the cancellation caused by errors on the initial decision. To reduce the residual interference and improve the initial decision, the proposed scheme utilizes the error correcting capability of the orthogonal convolutional code. This paper evaluates the performance of this scheme. It is shown that up to about 40 users, the proposed CCI canceller has a performance which is near the optimum performance when multiuser interference is completely canceled. It is also shown that the proposed CCI canceller offers an improvement in capacity by a factor of 1.5/spl sim/3 as compared with a conventional canceller.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":158358,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1994-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130508200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
