Islamic banking has a potential to attract non-Muslim customers. Semarang, both the regency and the city, has the largest non-Muslim population in Central Java. Currently, the number customers using Islamic banks has reached 22 million in 2017. This nominal can be escalated by elaborating non-Muslim preference towards Islamic banks. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors that influence the preferences of non-Muslim customers towards Islamic banks in Semarang regency and the city. There are 120 respondents who have been interviewed, consisting of 60 respondents are Islamic bank customers and 60 respondents are conventional bank customers. They are selected based on non-probability sampling technique. Logistic regression method is employed to analyze the data. Results show the preferences of non-Muslim customers using Islamic banks are knowledge, profit sharing, religions, administrative profit, and income. Islamic banks can target non-Muslim customers through actively involved in disseminating Islamic financial products.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"2014 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125892599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the increase in HDI could be influenced by GDP. Furthermore, as a Muslim-majority country and adopting a dual banking system, Indonesia's GDP is certainly also influenced by the Islāmic financial sector, such as zakat and Islāmic bank financing. In this case, zakat plays role as a wealth distribution instrument. Then Islamic bank financing could be a funding capital for the community and the country. So, this study analyzes the direct and indirect relationship between the variables of zakat, Islamic bank financing and GDP to the HDI. The method used is path analysis which aims to look at the hypothesis of causal relationships. The results obtained are the direct relationship of Islamic bank financing and GDP significantly positive effect on HDI. Zakat and Islamic bank financing variables have a positive effect on GDP. The greatest coefficient value between direct relationships is the coefficient of Islamic bank financing on GDP, which is equal to 81.7%. But the direct relationship of zakat to the HDI cannot be known. While the indirect relationship shows that there is an influence between the variables of zakat on the HDI through GDP and there is an influence between the variables of Islamic bank financing on the HDI through GDP.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114279929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data retrieval research is sourced from quarterly financial reports in the first quarter of 2012 to the third quarter of 2017 as many as 10 Islamic banks and 10 conventional commercial banks. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the level of non-performing finance (NPF) and non-performing loans (NPL) in dual banking system Indonesia. Variable independent in this research are the growth of gross domestic product (GDP), inflation, BI rate, return on assets (ROA), financing to deposit ratio (FDR)/loan to deposit ratio (LDR), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), operating expenses on operating income (BOPO), and total assets while the dependent variable is NPF and NPL. The analytical method used to test the hypothesis is by panel regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the sharia commercial banks have a significant influence on NPF including GDP, inflation, CAR, ROA, FDR, and BOPO. In conventional commercial banks significant factors include GDP, inflation, BI rate, CAR, LDR, BOPO, and total assets.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"77 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131704489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of waqf instrument in the attempt of social and economic growth is able to be obtained through the new concept of waqf, that is cash waqf. However, the realization of cash waqf collection was not met its potential. Based on the previous studies, one of the factors that caused the low quantity of cash waqf collection was the people that had less awareness and comprehension towards cash waqf. Even several people that already gave their waqf had only known the waqf in the form of immovable asset. This study aims to describe respondents’ characteristics and analyze the possible factors that affect wakifs’ perception towards cash waqf in Bogor City. The method used in this study was descriptive analysis and logistic regression analysis. This study was done in Bogor City and involved 50 respondents. Based on the data analysis results, wakifs’ perception was known to be affected by their comprehension towards cash waqf and their social motivation.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134620392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mix methods with sequential exploratory model was used on this research. The results of the study through interview, observation, and documentaion shows that KJKS Ukhuwah Pro-IBU conducted empowerment through loans and financing with sharia contract, weekly meetings, and training for women groups that were formed. This results shows that the form of empowerment of KJKS Ukhuwah Pro-IBU can be classified as Economic Empowerment and Sharia Grameen. Based on multiple linier regression test, it is known that material welfare of KJKS Ukhuwah Pro-IBU members is positively influenced by financing, length of business, education and negatively by number of family members and age. On the other hand, other factors namely attendance at weekly meetings, Islamic business ethics, has no significant influence. As for the results of Pearson corellation test, it is known that non-material welfare has a relationship with other variables, namely a positive relationship with a moderate degree of closeness with variables of material welfare, financing, Islamic business ethics. This results shows that material or non material welfare improvement one of them can be achieved with women empowerment that using forms of economic empowerment and Sharia Grameen.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"292 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131744674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, Islamic philanthropy is an object of study that has been widely studied in the social and economic fields. Articles about Islamic philanthropy were obtained using the zakat keyword on Emerald Insight between 2008 and 2018. The search results of 37 articles were then grouped into six topics discussing management, CSR, philanthropy, poverty, charity, religion, distribution, and collection. The findings show that Islamic philanthropy is a topic that is widely discussed by economists and researchers both muslim and non muslim. This is because Islamic philanthropy is the most realistic way to reduce poverty and social inequality today. However, the lack of optimal management of potential Islamic philanthropic funds has hampered the achievement of this goal.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133149549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a country with the largest muslim population in the world, the prospect of Islamic fintech in Indonesia is very good. This study tries to answer the problems that occur, strategy, and stakeholders involved in developing Islamic fintech in Indonesia using the Interpretive Structural Model (ISM) approach. The core problem faced in developing the Islamic finance technology industry is the lack of policy instruments that maintain the work process of fintech and the availability of human resources for fintech. The strategy needed in the framework of developing Islamic fintech is the ability to manage and analyze data in the big data era and human resources in digital marketing. For ecosystem aspects or actors involved in developing Islamic fintech in Indonesia, important actors include government or regulators, educational institutions (universities), as well as existing industries (banks and other financial institutions).","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"26 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114013686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the development of ISR is currently not growing rapidly in Indonesia because there are no regulations that regulate sharia social responsibility reporting standards. Increased disclosure of Islamic social performance is expected to influence the decisions of muslim investors in choosing sharia shares in companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index. This study aims to analyze corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosures in sharia and the factors that influence them. The data used are annual reports of companies registered in JII from 2012 to 2015, 14 of which were selected from 30 companies. The method used in this study is panel data regression with the fixed effect model (FEM) approach. The results of the analysis show that of the five variables that allegedly influence the level of ISR disclosure, three variables, namely company size have a positive effect, firm age and leverage have a significant negative effect on ISR disclosure. The other two variables, namely the number of board of commissioners and profitability have no effect on ISR disclosure.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129130748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aims to assess the viability of Muzara’ah in providing sources of agro-financing and alleviating rural poverty, the study conducted in Kura LGA Kano State, adopted quantitative survey method, 152 samples out of 250 registered farmers were used as guided by Krejcie & Morgan 1970, using random sampling, questionnaire for data collection and chi-square test for goodness of fit for analysis. The paper finds the viability of muzara’ah in providing sources of agro-financing very significant as it seeks to bridge the gap that exists between the deficit and surplus landowners where the latter offered his surplus land to the former and employ his labor to till the land and share the yield on a pre-agreed ratio. The paper suggests the proper implementation of muzara’ah to cultivate more lands, generate job creation, increase farmers income earning and enhance food security which in turn alleviates rural poverty.","PeriodicalId":158243,"journal":{"name":"AL-MUZARA'AH","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116557799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives are to examine the changes in cross market linkage among six selected OIC countries during crisis and after 2007 crisis and to analyze whether the international investor can gain benefit when allocating their funds across these markets. The set of relationship for each pair of Islamic stock index is analyzed using Engel-Granger (1987) and Autoregressive Distribution Lagged (ARDL) bound testing approach. The analysis is made for the sub period during crisis is 3 September 2007 – 11 January 2010 and post crisis is 18 January 2010 – 30 April 2013. The result depicts that there are evidences of cointegration among the Islamic stock markets after crisis but not during crisis.
