We describe the critical issues to operate the recirculating loop properly and we present experimental results on the cascading of a dispersive fiber link and an optical amplifier. Additionally, we conduct a numerical simulation of the recirculating loop experimental conditions. An experimental system with two wavelengths is employed in order to measure the bit skew in a single mode fiber. Results show that DMF can virtually cancel the differential group delay as different wavelengths travel in the same fiber. In this paper, I present a method to combine individual array observations in radio continuum mode at 4995 GHz which is successful when obtaining enhanced images of radio sources. This paper describes an application of the White Light Interferometry (WLI) technique to a high voltage optical fiber measurement system. Making use of a characteristic of WLI systems, in which the information is encoded in the spectrum of the light, a compensation method is here proposed allowing the measurement to be independent of the optical power transmitted by the optical fiber link. We have proposed two algorithms for routing and wavelength assignment based on the limitations imposed by four wave mixing crosstalk. When the efficiency of the effect is not very high, the algorithms present a good performance in order to minimize the four wave mixing. Results compare the number of LAN-to-LAN interconnections allowed by transparent photonic packet switching compared to conventional circuit switching Statistical multiplexing can significantly improve the number of VPNs despite overheads imposed by limitations of current photonic technology and traffic self- similarity. The influence of mismatches is analysed and conclusions on the key aspects of the design to increase the image rejection are discussed. A practical circuit implementation is described: a 1.9 GHz downconversion image rejection mixer is fabricated in 0.6 /spl mu/m CMOS standard technology. The compensation is realized by controlling the oscillation wavelength of the source laser with a feedback circuit so that the operation point on the FBG transmittance spectrum curve should remain the same regardless of the temperature change.
