The solution to CPS must transcend the boundary between the cyber world and the physical world by providing integrated models addressing issues from both worlds simultaneously. This needs new theories, conceptual frameworks and engineering practice. In this paper, we focus on Real Time CPS systems, particularly their use in detecting and ameliorating emergency situations. For these systems, given the need for high computational needs during the emergency situation the use of a Cloud computing framework to complement the CPS to form integrated CPS-Cloud Ecosystems makes considerable sense. However, this poses additional challenges which are explored in this paper.","PeriodicalId":145109,"journal":{"name":"2013 7th IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies (DEST)","volume":"210 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131929418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existing Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) processes which have been proposed for schema-oriented data sources are no longer applicable since todays data is unstructured. Previously, we deployed a tool called TouchR which relies on the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) to extract terms from unstructured data sources (specifically, NoSQL databases). This paper has advanced on the initially deployed version where we introduced re-usable dictionary and association rules to improve on the quality of the extracted terms. Also, the tool in its present stage is more adaptable to the user search based on the most frequently searched term.","PeriodicalId":145109,"journal":{"name":"2013 7th IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies (DEST)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130852584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This collaborative system helps crisis cell stakeholders by providing a tool able to support decision considering the current and the awaited crisis situation. The SIMPeTra system offers a way for crisis management unit to take more relevant and accurate decisions according to the predictive situation. It provides a tool to detect and anticipate road crisis evolutions. Method and technologies proposed to tackle this issue are presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":145109,"journal":{"name":"2013 7th IEEE International Conference on Digital Ecosystems and Technologies (DEST)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125629656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
