Online shopping companies, like Amazon and Flipkart, now make it easy for individuals in rural areas to purchase goods without having to leave their homes. Additionally, reverse logistics involves taking materials from the consumer destination and redistributing or disposing of them properly. This shift in expectations has been driven by customer- centric policies, encouraging people to make more purchases, but at a higher environmental cost. This paper looks at the Indian ecommerce industry in terms of how customers differ from the industry in terms of quality of service, and how big data and blockchain technology can help to provide modern solutions. We used customer surveys to gain insight into the perspectives of consumers, which we then analysed and visualised using Tableau. This paper will examine the Indian e-commerce industry in terms of how customers vary from the industry in terms of quality of service, and identify strategies to bridge the gap between tier-1 cities and tier-2 or tier-3 cities. Additionally, it will explore ways to achieve cost reductions for companies and reduce environmental impact through the use of big data and blockchain technology to find modern-day solutions.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"1 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136019518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Albeit, related party is one of the most important reasons for corporate scandals, very few researches have been conducted to find the determinants of related party disclosures particularly in developing countries’ perspectives. This motivated the authors to find the determinants of related party disclosures. For conducting this study, a disclosure index of 28 disclosure items has been prepared and the annual reports of 102 listed non-financial firms for the year 2019-2020 of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) were scrutinized against this disclosure index. The findings show that the related party disclosure by the sample companies is on an average 37.36%, which indicates that the current scenario of related party disclosure is not satisfactory. The regression analysis was done to find the determinants of related party disclosures. The results show that the association between the extent of related party disclosure and Multinational Subsidiary is statistically significant. The Security Category has negative but significant impact on the extent of disclosure. The result of this study will add value to the existing literature by providing the empirical evidence of the determinants of related party disclosures from a developing country’s perspective. From practical point of view, the outcome of this paper will help the regulators like Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) to form a frame of reference for the related party disclosures requirement. The results of this study will also help future accounting researchers to work on this area and the investors to make investment decision on the non-financial companies.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"101 1-2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136019517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They can often experience high levels of stress because they frequently encounter various challenges at their workplace that can negatively affect their academic performance and general health. However, familiar sources of stress among faculty working in higher education sectors have not been clearly defined. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the familiar sources of stress among them in the region of Visakhapatnam. One of the northeastern coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh belongs to south India. This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study. The convenience sample included 85 faculties working in various higher education colleges in Visakhapatnam. The Faculty Stress Index (FSI) was used to describe the sources of stress from four domains: academic load, financial concerns, personal problems, and interface worries. The majority (60%) of the participants were aged between 31 and 60. The primary source of stress was academic load and interface teaching and research responsibilities (M = 3.74, SD = 1.156), followed by financial worries (M = 3.73, SD = 1.285), lack of appreciation regarding their contributions (M =3.61, SD = 1.319), and personal problems to excel in teaching evaluations (M = 2.75, SD = 1.272). The faculty’s stress resulting from their academic load was higher than the other sources of stress, and it was related to a large number of materials like targeted assignments, extended working hours, or other research-related works required for faculty. It is suggested to create a positive and supportive work environment at the workplace, implement strategies for workload management, and professional development opportunities.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136276836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Black women have a higher risk of pregnancy-related complications and experience worse outcomes in cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, and mental health. Even with the Affordable Care Act, Black women still may not have access to affordable health insurance. This study examines the impact of race on healthcare coverage for women in Louisiana, which expanded Medicaid, and Mississippi, which did not. The study uses a quasi-experimental analysis to compare insurance coverage across states using publicly available data from the 2010 and 2021 American Community Survey. A chi-squared test determined a significant correlation between race and insurance type in both states. Insurance coverage for Black women increased in Louisiana. Women in Mississippi made slight gains even without Medicaid expansion. Despite these gains, racial disparity among women persists. Policymakers should strive for affordable healthcare for all women, regardless of race and geography.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136276837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is borne out of the societal disdain for technical education programmes aimed at boosting the competency level of its recipients in both teaching, handling of tools and machines for gainful employment. Considering the dismal level of response to technical education programmes, this study assesses some factors related to enrolment in technical education programmes of Colleges of Education in southwestern Nigeria. Two research questions were drawn to guide the study. A total of 402 academic staff and students were used for the study. The students were randomly selected. A structured questionnaire was used for the data collection with a reliability coefficient of 0.97 using correlational analysis. Findings revealed that poor awareness, incentives, and inadequate facilities discourage and prevent people from enrolling in technical education. Thus, the place of both print and electronic media was stressed in sensitizing the general public about the importance of Technical Education in solving the problems confronting the Nigerian public.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"96 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76985663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ensure that low-cost and hassle-free housing finance is accessible to customers, it is crucial that HFCs function profitably. While previous studies have studied determinants of risk in financial intermediaries that provide housing finance, this is the first study which focuses on the issue of profitability in the case of HFCs. Specifically, this empirical study identifies determinants of profitability in the case of Indian Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) using the panel data regression method. The study employs a panel dataset of 57 Indian HFCs for the period 2011-2019. The profitability of HFCs is measured using the Return on Assets ratio. The results present three interesting findings. First, HFCs with a larger size exhibit higher profitability, suggesting that smaller HFCs face diseconomies of scale and scope. Second, an increase in interest expenses and compensation to employees is associated with reduced HFC profitability. Lastly, ownership characteristics of the HFC are key determinants of profitability. Specifically, we find that being a subsidiary of a commercial bank increases HFC’s profitability. Contrarily, being government-owned and being affiliated to a large business group is negatively associated with HFC profitability.","PeriodicalId":14104,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management and Humanities","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80751007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
