Architecture is distinguished from other arts by the interaction of form with time during the visual sequence, whether external or internal, functionally and aesthetically. One of the visually distinguished buildings is the Aquarium Museums, which have aesthetic and functional characteristics that are visually perceived through the internal and external visual sequence. The purpose of the research is to study the effect of visual perception on the visual sequence in aquarium museums, by studying both visual perception and visual sequence in terms of characteristics, components, types, and Mutual effect then studying the functional and aesthetic requirements of Aquarium museums. Through the information obtained by the research, a model is proposed to evaluate the reciprocal relationship between visual perception and visual sequence in aquarium museums, and then to prove the validity of this model through an analytical study.","PeriodicalId":131968,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Al-Azhar University Engineering Sector","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125183330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The establishment of integrated waste management systems in economically and environmentally promising areas is of great attention. This work is aiming at reviewing the various methods and practices undertaken in developing countries in waste management and the rational and effective use of energy and water in sensitive ecosystem areas. Exploring the distinctive environmental elements of the Al-Baha region as one of the most important sensitive regions of the Kingdom was performed to identify undertaken waste disposal methods and their negative effects. .Several extended practices and scenarios were proposed to support effective management in maintaining the ecological balance in sensitive ecosystems.","PeriodicalId":131968,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Al-Azhar University Engineering Sector","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129279220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study deals with the methodology of deriving and formulating the educational objectives of the architectural design courses in the architecture programs in Egypt, based on the Standards-Based Education approach, as it depends on the relevant competencies in the National Reference Academic Standards (NARS) for the engineering sector - second edition 2018. - It also achieves (UNESCO-UIA) standards - the latest version 2017 AD - to validate architectural education programs internationally. The soil's optimum water content was calculated. Also, the index properties (liquid limit - plastic limit - soil specific gravity) were determined. Then, seven direct shear tests and seven unconsolidated undrained Triaxial tests were done on compacted samples with loads from 100 to 400 kPa at the optimum moisture content (WcB = 18.20%) to define the shear strength parameters, at the dry side of optimum (Wc = 12.20% and 15.20%) and the wet side of optimum (Wc = 21.20%, 24.20%, 28.00%, and 35.00%). The shear box and triaxial tests were used at each water content to calculate the cohesion value and the internal friction angle. The results were compared, and A relationship was found between water content with the internal friction angle and the water content with the Cohesion. The findings demonstrate that raising the water content reduces the friction angle. Increasing the water content causes the Cohesion to rise till reaching the maximum value at the optimum moisture content. Then, the Cohesion decreases by increasing the water content till it reaches the minimum value. The Cohesion results in the direct shear test are less than in the triaxial test by a ratio from 3.00% to 14.00%. The internal friction angle in the direct shear test is less than in the triaxial test by 1.00 to 2.20 degrees.","PeriodicalId":131968,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Al-Azhar University Engineering Sector","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128269457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Circular spillways are often used in narrow valleys and with earth dams. Previous studies have focused on this type of spillway due to its sensitivity and importance. One of the most crucial elements affecting a circular spillway's performance is its discharge coefficient. This coefficient gauge shows how effectively a spillway can move water over a range of dimensions. In this research, we established a physical model in the Irrigation and Hydraulics Laboratory. Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar University, Cairo. Twenty laboratory experiments were conducted and their measurements were taken and compared with the results obtained from the numerical model that was generated by Flow 3D software. The purpose of the comparison is to validate the numerical model, which can be used to predict the hydraulic characteristics of circular spillways in the future based on the results, It was clear that the numerical model is highly efficient, with an average error rate of no more than 10% in calculating the water height above the spillway crest and no more than 12% in measuring the discharge coefficient. So, the numerical simulation in the flow 3D software is capable of simulating flow over a circular spillway.","PeriodicalId":131968,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Al-Azhar University Engineering Sector","volume":"189 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123354150","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
