McKee","doi":"10.1109/MILCOM.1986.4805738","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/MILCOM.1986.4805738","url":null,"abstract":"This paper describes detection of DS-BPSK signals in the presence of narrowband interference (CW) where transform domain processing is employed for detection and excision of the narrowband interference. The receiver rejects the interference by performing a real-time Fourier transformation followed by tracking and excision. This, in turn, is followed by inverse transformation and energy detection. To further improve the narrowband interference excision, the received signal is time weighted. This paper will present a basic type of MVL PLA, show its dimention and its complexity. A comparison between different MVL PLA will be given and a general methodology for modular design using MVL PLA will be discussed as well. The paper then will demonstrate a detailed discussion of a pipelined image processing system and its implementation based on modular design using quaternary PLA. The specific case of ground to space communications is considered. The LPI performance measure used in the comparison is the Circular Equivalent Vulnerability Radius (CEVR). Using the millimeter wave propagation model of Crane and Blood, a model for computing the CEVR of a millimeter wave earth to space link is described. We then show how the same model can be used to calculate the CEVR for optical systems using the optical propagation model developed by one of the authors (East). Three options are examined for interconnecting mixed-media networks (MMN). These options differ in the level at which mixed-media connections are made, and to the degree that existing architectures are retained. This paper discusses database oriented methodologies used to provide accurate and efficient management information. It also details an automated tracking system that maintains components, including subscriber hosts and terminals. A high degree of sophistication, characterized by normalized relational databases and specialized user-oriented interfaces, have resulted in transparent views of multi-dimensional information sources. The new algorithm, in which the order (or number of taps) associated with each input channel is independent, is distinguished from the previously published multichannel form of the fast transversal RLS algorithm, wherein each input channel was con strained to have the same order. This additional flexibility allows assignment of filter resources to particular channels, or independent assignment to the pole/zero estimators in an ARMA system identification application. A summary of the new algorithm is given, in proper order of execution.
