Nevertheless, protection of data privacy is one of the major issues, and at the time of storage service selection, prospective consumers are concerned with how the cloud storage providers handle their personal data. To help a consumer with storage service selection, this paper proposes a methodology to assess the risk of privacy loss when consumer data are stored with a particular cloud storage service. The risk of privacy loss is viewed from two aspects. First, sensitivity of the personal data to be stored in the cloud and sensitivity of consumers' personal data requested at the time of service registration can contribute to the risk. Second, lack of privacy control transparency can be a risk factor if the cloud storage provider inadequately show the necessary privacy principles that are practiced. The proposed methodology can assist the consumers when determining the risk levels of privacy loss of different cloud storage services. We present the application of the methodology to a case of an organization selecting a cloud storage service to host its corporate data.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121188265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IoT service Providers (IoTSP), i.e. the companies who intend to offer IoT-based services, may utilize cloud computing which offers a cheap, ubiquitous, unlimited and elastic solution for the supporting infrastructure. In this way the IoTSP will deploy its Virtual Machines (VM) on various cloud service providers (multi clouds) to have satisfactory coverage and performance for its globally distributed users. In this context, one of the major problems is to minimize the overall cost of cloud infrastructure while keeping satisfactory level of performance. To achieve this the IoTSP has to cost-optimally place its VMs on the available cloud service providers. This paper proposes a decision support tool for IoTSP to find their cost-optimum VM placement on multi clouds. The tool comprises a cost estimation model as well as an optimization algorithm. Our decision support tool is examined by several simulation scenarios and the results demonstrate the working of the tool.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128453048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cognitive radio has emerged as a solution to dynamic spectrum access, due to its adaptability and re-configurability. The main problem of cognitive radio is how the secondary users can detect the holes in the frequency band of the primary users. Spectrum sensing is the main feature of cognitive radio technology. Finding a more accurate and efficient spectrum sensing technique is the core of cognitive radio technology to develop dynamic resource management in future wireless networks. A spectrum sensing based on the auto correlation technique provides performance improvement at very low SNR over the energy detection technique. In this paper, we show the autocorrelation spectrum sensing features over energy detection spectrum sensing technique. Analytical and Simulation results are performed in a non-fading and a fading environment as well. The results show that the autocorrelation technique has enormous superiority in performance over that of the energy technique.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117037211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed abstract language is based upon the process-driven IoT-community computing model that is derived from a conceptual integration of the process-aware collaborations and the standardized IoT framework announced via the ITU-T SG13 Y.2060. We assume that a group of collaborative smart-objects communities can be built-up statically, dynamically, or autonomously and their process-aware goals can be specified and achieved adaptively over an IoT-based community computing environment. We also strongly expect that the proposed abstract language will deliver us a meaningful means in specifying and achieving adaptive process-aware goals of the IoT-based communities formed in a ubiquitous computing society.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117340644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A major problem for the machine is difficulty in constructing kernel function. We show that it is possible to adaptively estimate the parameters of Gaussian wavelet kernel in Laplace method. Our approach is constructed on an obvious fact that the gradient of the kernel with respect to a central variable of feature space becomes zero. It is remarkable that the complexity of our estimation method is O(N) for N data. In order to validate the performance of the proposed approach, we simulate two kernel regression models which exploit the proposed approach on real electricity load data from Korea power exchange and electricity consumption data from Ireland's Commission for Energy Regulation.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128162272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to such a impulsive noise impact, joint iterative channel estimation and decoding technique is proposed in this paper so as to decrease the effect of impulsive interference while less complicated in processing. The proposed methods decreases the complexity by implementing the simple way of channel estimation and applying joint iterative technique between channel estimation and LDPC decoding under two kind of impulsive noise; pulsed radio frequency interference(RFI) and symmetric alpha-stable (SαS). In the optimal decoder, channel parameter estimation can be as accurate as possible. Because computed in every time of iterative decoder, channel parameters have been always optimized resulting in the enhancement of LDPC decoder performance.","PeriodicalId":125854,"journal":{"name":"2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131508523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
