Measured performance of the PHEMT agreed well with that of simulation. S/sub 21/ of 3.6 dB was measured at 35 GHz with f/sub T/ over 45 GHz, and f/sub max/ over 100 GHz. The PHEMT was also analyzed at 35 GHz for the variations in MAG according to gate and drain biases, and also for the changes in MAG and the output power against the unit gate width and the number of gate fingers.","PeriodicalId":121142,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE. In this paper, we propose a simple and flexible camera calibration using neural network that doesn't require a specialized knowledge of 3D geometry and computer vision. There are some applications, which are not in need of the values of the internal and external parameters. The proposed method is very useful to these applications. Also, the proposed camera calibration has advantage that resolves the ill-conditioned calibration in which the object plane is nearly parallel to the image plane. For a little more accurate calibration, the acquired image is divided into two regions according to radial distortion of lens and the neural network is applied to each region. Experimental results and comparison with Tsai's (1987) algorithm prove the validity of the proposed camera calibration.","PeriodicalId":121142,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE. Isolated digits 0-9 and their concatenations are used for speaking text. Linear prediction coefficients (LPC) are extracted and formed as feature vectors represented each speech signal. Dynamic time warping (DTW) is used to measure distances between referenced and evaluated vectors. These distances, indicating nearness of unknown vectors to references, incorporated with the K-nearest neighbor (KNN) decision technique are used to decide who possesses those unknown vectors. The experimental results have shown that the best identification rate for a single digit is 95.83% and the highest rate for concatenated digits of top-3, top-5, and top-7 are 98.75%, 100%, and 99.20%, respectively.","PeriodicalId":121142,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE. An approach for reducing the blockiness is based on wavelet thresholding. We evaluate various types of wavelet filters for use in this deblocking technique. The evaluation criteria used include the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), edge variance (EV) and visual performance. The results show that, among the wavelets studied, the Coiflet-5 filters give best performance for the deblocking purpose.","PeriodicalId":121142,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE. Our approach is based on the convex hull theory which has adequate information to handle non-uniform dependences. By parallelizing the anti-dependence region using variable renaming, we divide the iteration space into two parallel regions and one or less sequential region. This paper proposes an improved region partitioning method (IRP) for minimizing the size of the sequential region. Comparison with other schemes shows more parallelism than the existing techniques.","PeriodicalId":121142,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of IEEE. IEEE Region 10 Conference. TENCON 99. Due to the use of the Java language, Web-based simulation can have such characteristics as reusability, portability and the capability of execution on the Web. Most of the existing Web-based simulation tools have focused mainly on the development of runtime simulation libraries and mechanisms on the Web. Thus, the model development work in such Web-based simulation tools still requires hand-written coding of model developers. This paper presents a visual model development environment for Web-based simulation. The proposed environment provides a framework for model development and animation.
