The error correcting property is analysed. The restraining conditions for the nonlinear functions in the model to meet the attractivity requirement are given. Po, Chok-Ki Chan","doi":"10.1109/CICCAS.1991.184354","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CICCAS.1991.184354","url":null,"abstract":"Describes a new image coding scheme called directionally classified subspace vector quantization which is based on the dimensionality reduced subspace distortion measurement technique and the classified vector quantization technique for reducing the computational complexity and memory requirement of the image vector quantizer. In the new coding scheme, the 4*4 image block is classified into one of nine classes according to the directional content of the image block which is vector quantized using appropriate Hadamard transform subspace distortion measure. The classification is based on the horizontal and vertical gradients of the image block. The two gradient parameters form a 2-dimensional space which can be partitioned into 9 regions and each region correspond to a class of vectors. As the subspace vector quantization is applied on the restricted class of vector, extremely low dimensionality subspace distortion measures can be used. Generally, boundaries of the channel are two parallel lines. But sometimes, because of the different sized cells or macro cells, there may be some indentations on boundaries of the channel. In this paper, a channel router for three-layer channel with irregular boundaries is presented. Both the number of vias and the number of tracks are taken as the objectives. This algorithm has been coded in Pascal and implemented. According to the characteristic of spaceborne SAR, the Doppler history is analysed, and a mathematic model of the echo signal is established for discussing azimuth processing algorithms. The time domain correlation, frequency domain correlation, time/frequency domain correlation and spectral analysis algorithm of spaceborne SAR azimuth processing are compared and analysed. The computer simulation of imaging processing for spaceborne SAR is carried out with the method of time/frequency domain correlation. Recently a low cost package (C/NL) has been released for the analysis and optimisation of non-linear microwave circuits, making use of a personal computer. In this paper the authors report on an investigation of the usefulness and reliability of this program. They have measured the S-parameters of a MESFET over the range from 1 GHz to 10 GHz, and at a variety of bias values, and have tried using C/NL and other software to fit a model to these data. In C/NL use has been made of the non-linear model thus generated to predict the gain compression, intermodulation and harmonic distortion parameters. They may be referred to as total-phase topologies. Circuit variables are expressed as sequences, which should be algebraically manipulated by several rules proposed by the author. Both the set of circuit equations and its solutions are of total-phase type. The solution to each phase may be derived from the total-phase solutions. In this paper, the authors introduce an innovation filter (IF) to the algorithm to overcome this shortcoming. The inherent mechanism between the IF and IMM algorithm is revealed from theoretical analysis and verified by Monte Carlo simulations. It is different from Blom's IMM algorithm, as the Zhou model is used instead of the CA model. The Zhou model is much more efficient for tracking high maneuvering targets. However, while the targets are moving with constant velocity, it will lose accuracy. For data transmission this gives rise to severe intersymbol interference (ISI). Theoretically speaking the ISI can be eliminated with equalization technique. However, the general adaptive transversal filter equalization technique employs a complicate hardware configuration and software algorithms, and it needs a long convergence time. It is very difficult to use these techniques in practical equipment. To cope with the problem, the author presents an adaptive transversal filter scheme with fast convergence and simple structure, which can be implemented with monolithic VLSI. This enables reliable high bit rate data transmission in an HF channel.
