This work focuses on the vernacular architecture with Brazilian cultural roots of the Guarani Mbya group, commonly overlooked by academic, political, and social circles. Its development combined bibliographical research with social participation methodologies – on-site survey through a guided tour; graphic activity with the children's audience; and discussion, with the aid of a physical model, on the traditional architecture –, addressing aspects of cultural, spatial and social organization, and inhabit and build constraints’ of the group. The result consists of a brief survey of the transmutation of this indigenous architecture over the centuries, bringing to the debate the importance of recording this constructive technical knowledge in order to keep it available for future discussions on heritage, architecture, and sustainability.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129653650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The project was divided into 3 stages: Diagnosis and Strategy, Communication Project and Delivery. In the diagnosis stage, the immersion showed that there was a communication gap, in order to inform the products needed for donation and, at the same time, encourage people to donate. The strategy defined that the project would be based on the production of an institutional video and the creation of posts that strengthen social networks. The project resulted in a professional institutional video and a bank of materials for posts on social networks expected to be used for a period of at least one year, which was delivered and is now used and reinforces the institute's communication with the community.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126634434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These \"sustainable alternatives\" appear to be an attractive solution to environmental problems, however it is important to consider the potential environmental and public health impacts that may result from their use. Therefore, the objective of our research project is to analyze the VOC emissions of \"sustainable\" polymeric materials such boards and colaminateds. To this end, a prototype chamber for measuring organic compounds has been designed and manufactured by coupling a series of sensors for VOCs. The results have shown the presence of gases such as CO, NO2, NH3 and particulate matter, some of which are above the permitted limits of human exposure, concluding that the emissions of some VOCs may represent a potential risk for both environmental and human health. It is essential to continue researching to find sustainable alternatives that do not compromise the health and well-being of people and the environment.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126817058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, it was started from the principle that it is necessary to evaluate to make a decision about which technologies should be incorporated in the building, and that these in turn should consider the context where the building will be inserted. To do so, a history of the emergence of urbanization in Lagoa da Conceição was elaborated and the challenges and opportunities for the sustainable development of the place were listed, having as reference the proposition of the ESA-B Model. As a result, the main aspects that should guide the assessment of sustainability in this context were obtained, in order to guide the development of an application, through the USAT/ESA-B project.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131016080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New design concepts inspired by nature have been a favorable tool for creativity and innovation. Based on the alternatives and principles of bioinspired models in intelligent facades, the article aims to explore the techniques and concepts regarding the use of biomimetics and ecodesign, as tools for the generation of systems, technologies, materials and solutions employed in the skins of buildings. The methodological process for investigation through studies in existing bibliographic literature, presents and analyzes three case studies relevant to the proposed theme, in order to present definitions in the projectual models in architecture and design. And plastic is a widely used polymer due to its low cost and diverse application in all sectors of society, however, it has an insufficient recycling system. In this context, through this work, technical tests were carried out with artisanal production and empirical dosages, aiming at the use of these two residues, plastic and foundry sand, as raw material for an alternative material for use in masonry. The result obtained was satisfactory where all the test specimens exceeded the resistance of 6 MPa with regard to the axial compression tests, presenting itself as a possible option for the reuse of these residues.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115694533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These data demonstrate that even if potentially recyclable waste is sent to the Selective Collection, many are not recyclable due to the use of different types of polymeric materials with no market for recycling. This study aims to analyze which types of polymer packaging are currently sent via Selective Collection to Sorting Units, but which end up becoming waste and are sent for final disposal in landfills. For the development of the research, 32 types of polymeric material (plastics) were evaluated in order to identify whether or not they are commercialized in 37 Sorting Units in Porto Alegre and the Metropolitan Region. The results indicate that the resins with the lowest potential for recyclability were the types of polymeric resins: PET (1) of the tray type, PET (1) pigmented material, PP (5) of the bioriented polypropylene film type (BOPP), PS ( 6) single-use packaging such as cups, cutlery, plates, trays and coffee capsules, OTHERS (7) which are characterized by the mixture of more than one polymeric material, such as sachets, yerba mate packaging, coffee, animal feed, in addition to other types of materials such as acrylic.","PeriodicalId":115879,"journal":{"name":"ENSUS2023 - XI Encontro de Sustentabilidade em Projeto","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123684680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
