Under the background of the sharp increase of bond defaults in China, this paper wants to study the influence of bond defaults on the independence of the board. The empirical results show that the relationship between the bond default events and the number of independent directors is significantly positive. This means that bond default will increase the number of independent directors in the board. The increasing number of new independent directors can improve the quality of the listed company's financial report, can optimize the governance structure and protect the company shareholders’ rights and interests.","PeriodicalId":115326,"journal":{"name":"The 2021 12th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131046005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, rural medical care quality is still substandard and difficult to catch up with the urban medical quality for a variety of reasons. Such continuous inconsistency between urban and rural medical service quality is an urgent and extremely important problem for China, which is actively developing and pursuing a well-off society in an all-round way. Therefore, it is very necessary and urgent to study the root causes or main causes that lead to the gap between urban and rural medical care, and also provide a direction for professionals to put forward solutions. For the sake of investigating the reasons and putting forward targeted solutions, an empirical study based on quantitative research methods and questionnaire survey is presented. The research analysis focus on the three basic factors: the quantity of basic medical equipment; the number of medical staff; the professional quality of the medical personnel. The result proves that: First is personnel factor. On one hand, necessary medical treatment cannot be obtained due to the insufficient supply for health technician in rural areas, which lead to delayed treatment; On the other hand, as for the personnel capacity, most doctor in rural area fail to have qualified capability which means patients lack of efficient and professional treatment and even get worse for the inappropriate treatment. Second is the capital resource. Proper treatment hasn't been taken for all patients on account of the scarce medical resources so that patients cannot be guaranteed timely treatment when needed. These results expanded the theoretical research on rural medical system in a certain extent and provides the Chinese government with solid advice on polices setting in practice.","PeriodicalId":115326,"journal":{"name":"The 2021 12th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics","volume":"1690 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129390148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the existing studies use similar six or seven indicators to construct financial condition index, which can't fully and accurately play its guiding role. This paper selects 15 indexes of 7 markets that affect the financial situation and constructs China's financial condition index by using dynamic factor model and Kalman filtering to complete the missing value. Furthermore, we utilize the time-varying parameter vector autoregressive model to explain how the change of financial condition index affects the macro-economy and analyze the fluctuation of different markets have caused to financial market which is of great significance for better monitoring and effective policy-making of China's financial market.","PeriodicalId":115326,"journal":{"name":"The 2021 12th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics","volume":"2641 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121745121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus far, most studies have addressed the relationship between CEO power and debt financing from the agency theory, while fewer have applied the stewardship theory. In this paper, we apply both theories to analyze CEO power in terms of the debt financing cost data from a sample of A-share listed companies in China from 2008 to 2019. I found a significantly negative correlation between CEO power and corporate debt financing cost. This was mainly attributed to the structure power of CEO affected by the board, to the ownership power created by shareholding, and to the prestige power produced by higher education. I also found that either CEOs’ financial background or the companies’ high-quality audits could strengthen this negative correlation. These research findings provide some support for stewardship theory and agency theory.","PeriodicalId":115326,"journal":{"name":"The 2021 12th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133825104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current capital market experiences more fluctuation and are more unpredictable. Capital asset pricing tools are more important at such a special time. This article uses the Fama-French five-factor Model and analyzes the clothing industry in the United States from July 2019 to November 2020, separating into pre and post pandemic periods. The regression analysis performed contains five coefficient factors, and each corresponds to a specific property of the clothing industry after Covid-19 emerged. The market factor indicates that the clothing industry is negatively affected by the pandemic. SMB shows that small businesses are more favorable to investors. HML indicates that value stocks are more preferred. RMW shows that investors tend to look for companies with higher profitability, whereas CMA indicates a minimal change to the clothing industry. It is recommended that more attention should be paid to the companies with small-cap, high BM ratio and stable profitability.","PeriodicalId":115326,"journal":{"name":"The 2021 12th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics","volume":"482 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133929905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
