Our aim was to analyze clinical and imaging features. Case: A 15-year-old girl was admitted to the gynecological emergency department with lower abdominal pain. She was virgin and did not have gynecological examination. In ultrasonography a 10 cm cystic lumen was observed in the right tube. Right salpingectomy was performed. In the pathological examination, there was ischemic changes due to torsion. Conclusion: Isolated tubal torsion is extremely rare in early adolescent period. Early surgical intervention after diagnosis is important for fertility.","PeriodicalId":10312,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and experimental obstetrics & gynecology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43881973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Deep endometriotic nodules are hard fibrotic tissues. Patients are recognized as having deep endometriosis only after several years from the onset of symptoms, therefore it is important to improve diagnostic capabilities. Cases: In this case series, our purpose was to present the applicability and feasibility of transvaginal strain elastography. Five patients with various complaints compatible with endometriosis underwent transvaginal ultrasound with strain elastography. Using the ’International Deep Endometriosis Analysis’ group (IDEA) protocol along with transvaginal strain elastography, preoperative examination clearly demonstrated the size and extent of deep endometriosis. Conclusion: This ultrasonographic technique was effective regardless of whether the ligaments of the female reproductive tract, or the organs of the urinary and intestinal tract were","PeriodicalId":10312,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and experimental obstetrics & gynecology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48546685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: This was a 2-arm quasiexperimental study based on a single-center. A convenience sample of 76 hospitalized young female breast cancer patients, stage 0-III breast cancer diagnosis was recruited. The control group received usual care, while cosmetic care was added to the intervention group. The primary outcomes were BI and SAD accompanying chemotherapy, and the secondary outcome was the appearance satisfaction. It was registered at Clinical Trials.gov, no. NCT04733482. Results: There were significant differences in patients’ body image, and social avoidance and distress scores from the pre-discharge (T0) to at the end of the chemotherapy cycle (T2) between two groups (P < 0.05). However, the intervention did not significantly change the appearance satisfaction at T2 (P > 0.05). Logistic regression suggested there were no confounding demographic factors influencing the intervention. Conclusions: The present study indicated that cosmetic care improved BI and reduced SAD in young Chinese breast cancer patients during adjuvant chemotherapy. However, a randomized study should be undertaken to confirm our results.","PeriodicalId":10312,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and experimental obstetrics & gynecology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49138652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: A prospective database of fetal Down syndrome screening project was accessed to enable retrieval of the records of any women with recorded NT measurements. The selected pregnancies were categorized into the INT group (>95th percentile) and the normal (<95th percentile) group. The effectiveness of NT for prediction of Down syndrome and hemoglobin Bart's disease was also determined. Pregnancy outcomes were compared, also using multivariate analysis to correct the major confounders. Results: Out of 8225 NT measurements recorded, data from 7126 fetuses were available for analysis. These included 357 in the INT group and 6769 in the normal group. INT was significantly associated with Turner syndrome, Down syndrome, Edwards' syndrome, Patau syndrome, cardiac defect and Hb Bart's disease. After exclusion of fetal abnormalities, rates of abortion, low birth weight (LBW), preterm birth and intrauterine death (IUD) were significantly higher in the INT group, with adjusted odds ratio (95% CI) of 7.82 (7.48–13.66), 0.60 (0.42– 0.86) and 5.10 (1.11–23.42), respectively. INT was effective in predicting Down syndrome with a sensitivity of 61.1% with a false positive rate of 5%. Conclusions: In addition to effectiveness in screening aneuploidy and cardiac defect, INT significantly increased the identification of risk of some diseases specific to a certain geographical area, for example Hb Bart's disease in Thailand. Among the euploid fetuses in this study the rate of abortion, LBW, preterm birth and IUD were also significantly increased.","PeriodicalId":10312,"journal":{"name":"Clinical and experimental obstetrics & gynecology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2021-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48188421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
