It was found that the number of publications and citations related to genomics research has been steadily increasing over the years, indicating a growing interest and investment in the field as the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was the leading contributor to the field. Among the 159 contributing countries from 2012 to 2021, India contributed 4.46% of publications. The Department of Biotechnology (Ministry of Science and Technology, India) provided the most funds for genomics research.
