Abstract
Torticollis is an unilateral involuntary contracture of the sternocleidomastoid and posterior neck musculature that causes the head tilts to the one side. Multiple causes of torticolis have been described, one of them being the non-traumatic rotatory subluxation of the atlantoaxial joint associated with an inflammatory process in the head and neck region, called Grisel's syndrome.
