Abstract

The presented transcribed manuscript is one of the few evidences of the hierarchical organization of political-administrative territories of New Spain. The anonymous author made reference to the reorganization of indigenous towns in alcaldias mayores (minor political jurisdictions), seeing its implementation in the Huastecas region, to maintain or increase its economic hierarchy compared to other jurisdictions.
