Abstract
In recent years, Indonesians have been introduced to various social media applications that allow users to post photos, videos, and accompanying captions, all of which are digital. In this pandemic era, the intensity of using mobile phones is in line with the intensity of using social media for entertainment, seeking information, to self-existence. Communication patterns are changing because we are required to adapt quickly to be able to optimize the media. Uniquely, this is in line with the new regulations in this pandemic era. This study aims to describe the use of social media and digitization in the new normal. The research method in this study is a descriptive qualitative method where the researcher tries to dig up the informant's information based on what he experienced.. The results obtained indicate that the intensity of using social media and digitalization in the new normal period increases along with people's habits in accessing social media and the digital world. This increase is a good sign but must be accompanied by special policies or rules for security in social media and the use of digital systems.
