Safety aspects of IT

Abstract

The legal requirements for electrical testing are summarised with the emphasis on IT equipment. Important elements of visual inspection are listed, especially in relation to what needs to be done outside any formal testing regime. The electric shock hazards of IT equipment are noted as well as regulations on electromagnetic interference and the regular use of display screens.
