It shows good selectivity for Pb(II) ions over the other cations. The complexation 2,2'-[propane-1,3- diylbis(oxy)]dibenzaldehyde and Pb(II) cation was studied spectrophotometrically in 1:1 DMF:H2 O mixed solvents. Spectra shows the strong interaction between Ionophore and Pb(II) ion.
