Abstract
Objective
To analyze pathogens and outcomes of fifty-one eyeball evisceration.
Methods
The data of pathogens and outcomes of 51 inpatients (51 eyes) undergone eyeball evisceration were collected and analyzed from January 2000 to May 2015 retrospectively.
Results
Fifty-one eyes consisted of 18 eyeball atrophy, 14 serious lacerated wound, 9 secondary glaucoma, 6 corneal ulcers with perforation, 4 entophthalmia.
Conclusions
Evisceration associated with stage Ⅰ implantation not only can decrease exposed implants and narrow conjunctival saccus, but also can reduce reoperation pains and economic pressures.
