Abstract
Hormones play a key role in the communication between cells and organs. Hormones are classified as: peptides hormones, hormones synthetised from a single amino acid, and steroid hormones. The major steps of the process by which peptide hormones are synthetised are: the gene transcription, mRNA translation, polypeptide maturation, and then exocytosis, leading to peptide secretion.
