The International Legal Basis for Combating Extremism

Abstract

The article describes the evolution of the creation and development of the international legal framework for countering extremism, proceeded in the face in the context of extremist actions during the late XX-early XXI centuries. The leading role of international intergovernmental organizations in this process is shown. It is concluded that an important condition for the successful fight against extremism is international cooperation in the creation of international legal acts aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and preventing terrorism, which will have a decisive impact on strengthening both national and international security.
