Abstract

Inaccurate or inconsistent placement of 12-lead EKG and bedside EKG monitoring electrodes can lead to disastrous diagnostic errors in cardiac patients. A knowledgeable and competent nursing staff can facilitate optimal diagnosis and treatment of the patient's problem through accurate placement of the 12-lead EKG and bedside EKG monitoring electrodes.
