Abstract

Recently, the quantum channel compression has been proposed. It is an encoding method, which reduces the channel resources (bits and qubits) used in a quantum secure communication protocol. The paper proposes a first-time practical implementation of this encoding process – encoder and decoder are designed. Thus, the practical feasibility of the quantum channel compression is demonstrated. The functional designs of the encoder and decoder are presented and verified by the software Quartus II v. 8.1, Web Edition. It was found that the implementation of quantum channel compression allows reducing not only the resources but also the duration of a quantum secure communication owing to a parallelism in the decoding part of the system.
