The integration of European Energy and Ancillary Services Markets: case studies, opportunities and a look to foreign countries

Abstract

This paper presents the current status and the path for the integration of the European Energy and Ancillary Services Markets; it describes real case studies, to highlight lessons learned as well as opportunities for operators and challenges, mainly related to the technical complexity of the integration process and to the need for a continuous evolution of infrastructures.
