Abstract

This paper discusses the measurement and detection of partial discharge (PD) on the metal enclosed power apparatus, mainly on the effect of the presence of holes on metal box on PD induced electromagnetic wave detected by external loop antenna. The PD testing is done with a variety of hole shapes (square hole and circle hole), hole sizes, and antenna placement.
