Women's studies research in the United States a review and discussion

Abstract

The extensive research activity in the field of Women's Studies in the United States both in the universities and elsewhere has been documented in recent issues of Women's Studies Int. Quart. This brief article makes no attempt to duplicate that detailed information but rather reviews some of the research and offers some general observations on its directions and aims. In particular, my comments stem from research I carried out in Women's Studies in the eastern United States between January and August 1978.
