A wide band array synthesis technique

Abstract

A new approach to the synthesis of wideband arrays that allows the enlargement of the working bandwidth of standard arrays is presented. The approach involves generalizing the technique already introduced in the single frequency case. A synthesis problem is considered wherein the array excitations corresponding to a far-field pattern satisfying at best the design specifications in the prescribed band need to be determined
