Abstract
Data integration using ‘intelligent geometries’ (ITG) enhances the options on exchanging additional information (aka metadata) for digitally surveyed geodata. Additional information for geometries is nowadays in many cases still integrated in an error prone manual manner in the office, after collecting the data in the field. ITG simply explained are objects (points, lines, polygons) which carry next to the geometry information, Meta information regarding origin, purpose, accuracy, creation, usability when being created (surveyed). These additional data information can subsequently be integrated into the organisations’ IT system in an automated manner.
