Abstract
This article aims to develop a typology about the appropriation that MPs make on Facebook, and the kind of interrelation developed with citizens, what we label as cyber-base. Two indexes were constructed: the Parliamentary Activation Index and the Cyber-Base Activation Index. They were elaborated by analyzing the posts and comments received on the Facebook pages of 20 Federal MPs, in a period of time of one week. It is observed the existence of four ideal types of patterns the parliamentarians’ relationship with the cyber-base in this social media: 1) pages with high political performance; 2) pages with medium political performance in which only the parliamentarian activates it; 3) pages with medium political performance in which only the cyber-base activates it and 4) pages with low political performance. This study contributes to understanding more how the process of interconnection, mediated by Facebook, between representatives and represented takes place.
