Abstract

Several spatial analysis methods are available today to quantify the geographical access to outpatient healthcare. However, the calculated access does not always correspond to the patient’s perception. This is caused by various individual access barriers. In the CaptureACCESS study, locally adapted geographic analyses, optimized for the Berlin and Brandenburg study areas, are developed. A patient survey will be conducted, which aims to capture the perceived access barriers. A comparison of the geographically measured with the perceived access makes it possible to evaluate best methods of analysis, considering the patient’s perspective.
