Abstract

Master Plan, Palembang ABSTRACT Master plan 1974-1994 was compiled by an architect in the city of Palembang, Ir. Anwar arifai in 1971 was then head of the Palembang Urban Planning Service to be assigned to the drawing of a master plan. According to the observations and results of the master plan 1974-1994 ninety percent were carried out with various large and concrete projects, one of which was the construction of the ring road, and the civic center. The study USES historical research methods that have source search steps, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The purpose of this study is a deeper study of development in the future cities of Palembang to become more defined as well as the material for the institutional assessments involved in building a Palembang. So the purpose of the master plan was used as a tool to promote growth and organize future city planning and expansion. It is an act of strengthening the vision of the next two to three decades given the future population growth, which leads to developing economies, and the need for infrastructure and ecological improvements is expected to occur in certain areas with the development of goals.
