Crystal structure has been determined and refined to R = 0.035 and Rw = 0.036 using 5107 independent reflections. In the atomic arrangement of the title compound, ZnCl4 2- inorganic entities, water molecule and -NH3 + groups have a layered organization around the planes z = 1/4 and z = 3/4.
