Abstract
The article is based on the theoretical analysis of the concepts «illusion of thinking» and «metacognitive monitoring». The purpose of the paper is to find out the features of the illusion of thinking and to substantiate their importance in the metacognitive monitoring in the process of learning of university students. The role of illusion of thinking in metacognitive monitoring in the process of university students learning is analyzed.

It aims to publish research articles of the highest quality and significance within the disciplines that form cognitive science, including philosophy, psychology, linguistics, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, anthropology, and education for Interdisciplinary Journal. Submissions that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries in either themes or methods are especially encouraged. AI-associated Cognitive Science will be newly reinforced and papers in this area are encouraged to be submitted.
